“Benfica’s Manuel Fernandes broke off from training with the team this morning in preparation for the game with FC Copenhagan as the midfielder could be heading for the exit to Everton. The player’s absence from the team hotel received no official explanation from the club, but speculation is mounting that he will move to the city of The Beatles where he played last season on loan. It must be remembered that if Manuel Fernandes is used in the game with FC Copenhagan he would be ineligible to represent another team in European competitions this season.”
 

A blokes cat caught a mouse that was living in Ian Ross's office, and before the cat ate the mouse, it said Ian Ross had said it was a done deal, the cat told his owner this and the owner lets his gran know, who knows somebody who posts on NSNO and they let the owners know, and presto, we have a story!

Apparently Benfica will have to come up with the readies (£6m-ish) to make Manny stay. I don't think they have that sort of money ... do they? ;)

If Benfica wanted to keep him so much why did they 'slip' a clause into his Portsmouth contract where if he played 3 consecutive games then Pompey had to buy him for £12 MIllion. Seems to me they are just doing the usual and trying to bump up the price. His contract states a 9 million euro buy out clause though. This one will happen.
