Benfica receives offer from Everton for Fernandes
LISBON, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Portuguese club Benfica has received an offer from English Premier League Everton to sell 50 percent of its rights in international midfielder Manuel Fernandes, the club said on Monday.
Benfica said it was considering the offer from Everton or alternatively whether to buy the remaining 50 percent of the rights to the 21-year-old player from an investment banking group.
Benfica owns 50 percent of the sports rights of Fernandes and the remaining 50 percent belongs to the Media, Sports & Entertainment Investment Banking Group.
Fernandes was loaned to Everton last season after extending his contract with Benfica until 2011.
Under the terms of Fernandes's contract, breaking the deal with Benfica would cost 9 million euros ($12.33 million).

Actually we need to agree to personal terms and aquire the other 50% of his rights. No more Tevez like deals with 3rd party ownership. My guess though is that MSI and Everton already have an *understanding* so Benific and Fernandes himself may well be the last real hurdle.

Namdrater what did you think of our Stephen Pienaar over the weekend. Whats you thoughts? Glimpses of talent in the short time on the pitch.(y)
He looked really good, very sharp. He looked creative actually and I thought the way he setup Johnsons goal was excellent. Its funny that when I watch South Africa playing, everyone on the team just looks [Poor language removed], but individually we got some good talent, McCarthy, Shaun Bartlett, Mark Fisch, Radebe, Q Fortune, etc. Looking forward to the game we got with Scotland next week.

Can one more person please quote the website about the Fernandes deal, I didnt get it the first 3 times

Seems like the deal is set to go through... MAKE IT HAPPEN MOYESEY

I think it will be all done & dusted if Benfica agree. I think the tounge in cheek Moyes this weekend is that personal and the third party issues were solved. So this is exciting. He just couldn't let the cat out of the bag then could he? Smashing or as Chico would say Ace.(y)
