good 1st post mate
agree with you.

people argue about wether manny worth £12m.
i dont think manny was their argument.
they would object to us ever spending that sort of money regardless of the player.

I am not sure that he was worth 12 mill, I think the problem was that there were too many interested parties who each wanted a share hence the higher price.

Even another loan deal will be awesome. He's got some awesome onball skills that is surely lacking. So I guess we will also be seriously looking for another striker seeing that Vaughan will be out for a while? Any ideas?

Big Dunc? (y)

Whenever we've had loan players in the past and we haven't taken the option to take them permanently, Moyes has always said so straight away. Think back to Ferrari, a day or so after the season he said he was going home.

He has said nothing about Fernandes. Maybe he's trying to tie up some sort of deal? Its strange that theres been no mention of him at all from Everton.

Maybe Moyes has enough to buy Manny and is hoping to see if he can get numbers in (loans/free like vogel/pienaar) before splashing the money on Fernandes?

My theorey on it is that the red tape and ownership stuff put us off and until he is a player we can buy like any other we don't want to get ourselves into a position like west ham did.

I'll be honest, I've said both sides of the coin, one that he will never play for us and and my opinion now is that he will be back either in January or this time next year.

Really hope he will come to us. When he played his best he was topclass and we need players like that.

I still have hope that he will come on loan and the reason for Everton being quiet (and other teams) is that something has been all but agreed between the clubs.

TBH cannot see it myself the ownership waters are too muddy. The club could not afford to get into a Hammers/Blades mess. Remember there was some confusion when Pompey had him and then we took him on loan.

I read somewhere that Benfica bought the other half of Fernandes contract, can't remember where it was I think it was bluekipper. Anyway, I believe that Moyes is weighing up some freebies and loanies once he's got them all done and dusted he'll turn his attention to his 1 big signing.

I hope its Fernandes if not then Riquelme I'm not too fussy. :P

I know I am getting excited about the potential of our squad with all the murmurings and a fast track to a stadium deal. Exciting times indeed.(y)

According to some Portugeezers I know from another forum, it was reported in the dailies over there that Manny failed to turn up at the team hotel after training today, the belief being that Everton have come up with the readies to trigger the clause in his contract.

I can't see it, myself - £12m is just too much, unless we've negotiated some sort of 'buy now, pay later' deal - but they seem convinced that it's on.

*shrugs* All will be revealed, I suppose.

Keep us informed Loosecranks. This will be some good work here if we do get him. It may sound like big money right now but already a fan favorite and so much potential it may seem like a bargain a few years down the road.(y)

I dont think its such a bad deal, he is a player that will almost definitely be world class in a few years and hes young. If Nani is worth 14mil, Fernandes should be worth 16mil! What Fernandes brought to the team is worth 12mil.
