Would be nice to learn that moyes is saving funds for his signing. By the way Bruce, few mths back you were pretty confident in your post that Fernandes is coming. What do you read about his situation now? Not trying to start another round of flaming, just interested to know what you think of the situation now as you are clearly one of the more sensible members around.

think we will sign manny on loan and riquelme on 3 yr deal.

but hey it wont be the first time ive got something wrong

Has anyone read anything from OS regarding the end of his stint with us? Do we have any portuguese friends in this forum who can shed some light on his whereabout?

he played for benfica in a win the other day

i heard benfica had bouth the other half of his contract - thus ending any problems due to joint registration or whatever.

he enjoyed his time in england but is now looking forward to playing in portugal again.

standard fare.

Yeh, forget about manny lads.

He will never play in an Everton shirt again. shame.

hello guys,

nice to be on your forum!

From the little we get to watch of everton on satelite in SA, I really hope they sign this boy. He is a talent and alongside Arteta in the midfield they can & will be very destructive.

I do appreciate Moyes not wanting to bankrupt the club, but there comes a time when you have to stick your hand deep into the pocket in order to make take the club to it's true potential. The midfield is the heart and sole of the team and with all due respect, I don't think Leon Osman makes the cut. Even if we should spend our entire budget on the midfield in order to get Fernandes & 2 really descent wingers, we will be able to provide the descent balls for our strikers to score and get guys like Beatie to show his true potential. What would we expect to pay for a "world class" midfielder? Chelsea, Arsenal, United and LFC (sorry guys) will think nothing of spending 25-30 mill on a player. I don't want it for us to be an achievement to make the top 8, but rather a regular feature to fight for the top 4...

Cheers

I agree with that, especially about osman but there was too much red tape flying around manny, maybe in January if Benfica don't want him and we are doing well but as soon as returned to portugal I thought he wasn't going to come back.
