Fellaini wants to leave Everton?

Very predictable really.

Fellaini has a couple of great games, half of the lazy British media realise there's more to his game than hair & elbows & all of a sudden he's being noticed for what he is - a fine, all round midfield player, who's in the top 10 in the PL.

He then goes off on International duty & the Belgian media start talking a potential move to a 'big club' - he says it might happen & bingo, we are where we are.

If he continues to play at the level he has started at - all season (which is a big IF). Then there'll definitely be some mega offers for him next summer, we'd be daft to pretend otherwise, that's football. At least we've got him on a long term deal, so we'll get great moeny for him, should that be, how it pans out.

I love Fellaini, but I'm not daft enough to believe that we're immune to losing our best players, should the price be right - it's how it is, the football pyramid, Barca currently sit at it's pinnacle & everyone else has their place, at any point in time.

Spurs couldn't hold on to Modric could they? We couldn't hold on to Arteta.
Why do people think we'd be able to hold on to Fellaini?

Look, it's kind of sad he'd a) want to leave; b ) actually be sold, but everyone knows the score.

Well, quite. There was life before Fellaini; there will be life after him - and if we make a nice profit, fine. We're just not in a position to hang on to top class players for ten or twelve years. Arteta loved the club but still went.

In the meantime, let's hope he has a brilliant season and then, if he must go, he goes abroad.

We cant hang onto any decent player because we cant offer any decent player success; and that's just fine and dandy with a club that needs more than most to sell to keep the wolf from the door because it has useless and incompetent owners who cant fund success. It's a real shit sandwich made in hell's kitchen.

As for Moyes being disappointed in someone who's showing no long term commitment to the cause: this is the same feller whoring himself round every media organisation this summer touting for the Spurs job...the same feller who's leaving it 'till the 11th hour to sign a new contract (or reject it).

Man United couldn't keep hold of Ronaldo;
Arsenal couldn't keep hold of Van Persie
and the list will go on and on and on and on and on and, this is football, player movements are part of the game.

If any Evertonian thought we could keep hold of Fellaini then they are deluded; not because 'we are Everton' and its a pleasure to play for us, it has nothing to do with us being a selling club, The Board, is dad. Felli is coming to that time of his career when the 'want' and the opportunity to play for a huge club is right in front of him; he's not a blue so I can understand his own personal ambitions as footballer to play in a different league, a better club etc etc.

In all honesty; i'd rather have Felli coming out and saying 'listen lads, i've given you my all and I want to try something new. So I'm given you a heads up that within the next 18 months I will be off'

Then when Lescott came out and left us in limbo talking ****e that he didn't want to go, before playing for a move via the media

The only problem I have with it is the timing. He's screwed the club over big time by talking about this when there's three months to go before anything can happen about it. It also weakens our negotiating position and is massively unprofessional.

If Fellaini had left in January because a good bid came in and behind the scenes he had made it clear he wanted to go, I wouldn't have a problem. But he really has put a dampener on our good start to the season and he can get f***** as far as I'm concerned.

He made ONE APPEARANCE as a pundit on BBC1 for a Europearn Championships game - a commitment that was made BEFORE Redknapp even got sacked. 'Whoring' - what utter nonsense and so disrespectful to Moyes.

If you think the owners are incompetent, why do you blame Moyes for not immediately jumping at the first opportunity to re-sign a new contract? You can't have it both ways and slate the owners for being crap AND slate Moyes for being crap. You just look incredibly silly when you do that.

So we've currently not got any decent players then? We've not managed to hang onto any player that was ever coveted by another club? None of the current crop have extended their stays as they are happy with a club that's in & around the top 6 in the PL?

Your rant is hollow lad, we're not Barcelona, therefore we risk losing our best players should a club who currently ranks ahead of us in the football pyramid, decides they're prepared to pay a massive price for them. It's called reality lad.

To suggest that this football reality is somehow governed by Kenwright & Co. is total nonsense.

Save your bile for their genuine faults & errors of judgement, by trying to put the blame for what everyone with an ounce accepts as reality, you're diluting the effect your view has on the subject of the boardroom imho.

As for Moyes, that subjective facile ****e imo

It's not Everton's fault, in this instance. Well, if you really want to get deep about it, I suppose it is Bill Kenwright's fault for being skint and not being able to find a buyer for the club because his search process is flawed and he doesn't want to take a chance on any potential buyers in case it goes tits up and he'd never be able to forgive himself ala David Moores.

But really, this is ALL Fellaini's own doing, and his alone.

'[Poor language removed] off Fellaini' is what you should be saying.

Haha Bill and the board don't want to sell to potential buyers in case it goes tits up hahahahaha

More like, no one has matched the asking price. Even Bill thought he nearly sold the club, to a man in a bedsit. He cares that much about the potential buyer, yeah sure he does.

.

I'm worried this was his intention - make sure we don't drag it out by asking for more than people are willing to pay for him - realistically (forgetting this rumoured release clause) the bidding will probably not reach further than £20-25m unless he is amazing for the next 8 months. It could be he wants to force us to accept whatever bids come in. Instead of holding out for an unrealistic £30m and making him stay for the second half of the season

Also, if he doesn't give his all and moyes sees that, I don't think he's indispensable, just drop him and tell him he's not going back into the shop window until he sorts his head out. IF the right changes were made (I.e mirallas behind striker not neville, heitinga and Gibson in midfield), the temptation to play the long ball to t target man wouldn't be there and we would play it on the floor- not the end of the world.

It may depend on what buy out clause is in Fellis contract - if its lower than 30 million we will get shafted - The Ofoe deal stinks if we were so interested why did we mess about on the last day looking at players who were not as good. & miss the deadline time????? - Felli mentioned he was a bit upset with not signing Ofoe - another smokes & mirrors transfer attempt by EFC

Think ofoe was a last minute attempt after n'zonzi and Essen. Fellaini was obviously asked about it and said he was disappointed he didn't come. Doubt it has anything to do with him wanting a move. Tbh his dad has been openly mentioning Chelsea etc for years so it's no surprise. IMO there are only a few teams that can afford him and might want him. City don't need him, I don't see him as a Fergie player and he won't get bigger wages or any more trophies at arsenal.

Moyes needs to be consistent if he's to have authority. Do you think the likes of Fellaini and others dont see that their manager was angling for a Spurs call or dont notice he's into the final year of his contract?
