Fellaini to Chelsea

Sorry about the source, I know this sounds ridiculous but I pray to god it's not true. I've a family friend who's a top football lawyer who's told us that Chelsea are pretty determined to get Felli in the window. He's drawing up contracts and is pretty certain it's going to happen. Would be devestated if this was true. I was hoping whether LCAB or Fox could shed some more light on this?

*shout vomits on you*

On a lengthy contract, age on his side, proven Premier League star, no need to sell on the cheap, we're talking £30m+ here.

£30m bare minimum in fact. In actuality, I'd be expecting closer to £40m.

Sorry to shoot you down, it's not lawyers that draw up contracts. The context of a legal contract is defined between the two, the very mention of a contract being drawn up would suggest the deal is already done.

It's not.

Can we stay away from talking sense in here please

Chelsea are probably going to need to bring another striker in if Drogba goes, because Torres is unreliable. Kalou and Malouda are out of contract, so the left side of midfield needs attention. Plus they're going to have to think about bringing the average age of the squad down by recruiting eventual replacements for thirty-somethings Cech, Terry, Cole and Lampard. They will have to bear the potential home-grown quota in mind and then there are financial fairplay rules to consider. I'm sure they like Fellaini but on balance, and given that they don't have a permanent manager, it would seem strange to spend so much money on a foreign player when they have bigger priorities.

Absolutely no chance of anybody spending that much on him. £25m and he'll be sold, we're in desperate need of the money and all the big clubs know it.

I doubt he'd consider going to Chelsea unless they beat Bayern. If he leaves us, it'll be to go to a club playing CL next season ... and I doubt very much he'll be leaving.

How can Chelsea be 'pretty determined to get Felli in the window' when they have no manager? Who's decided they want him...Terry? Ramires? Torres? The groundsman? The kitman??

You're either bored or a Kopite as this 'story' has been re-hashed for 2 years in various media formats
