Ever , would have to be The Maltese Falcon . Recent would have to be Lives of Others ( German Flm ) . Though see other ( related )thread , for classics .
My favourite , for no logical reason ie, quality , is Enigma , though more for subject matter than cinematic genii .
Others , Bill Murray . Film comedy God .
Cross of Iron . Boss war film .
All the President's Men . Boss political intrigue movie .
Oh , and if Scarlett Johansson gets kit off in any film , then thats in my top list , too .

Saving Private Ryan was an entertaining film but a load of gash as to any historical fact.

Happen to like Kingdom of Heaven actually and great soundtrack, historically a bit off. Godfrey was never a blacksmith!!

Must admit I am a John Wayne fan, there that does it, even he was a bit silly on his politics.
