Favourite FA Cup game.

Several SFs come to mind - Soton in 84, Luton in 85 and United in 2009, for example - but a less obvious one is the QF defeat v United in 1983. We lost but played brilliantly and the atmosphere was fantastic. 14k Everton fans there at Old Trafford and there were early signs of better times to come that day.

Definitely the signs were there a lot of that team would play massive parts in the next few seasons didn't that bring on macari on near the end and he laid it off to Stapleton to score absolutely gutted coming out of there

Apart from the success in 1984 winning the FA cup, what is your favourite FA Cup game since?
Sunderland away in the quarter final replay under Moyes. We played out a really flat draw at Goodison but put in a great performance 10 days later away. As usual we packed the away end and the team rewarded us with a 2-0 easy win. Fantastic performance and atmosphere on the night, and in true Everton fashion we rolled over in the semi final to the RS.

Reading at home, after wed managed to beat Chelsea away and losing out at a QF.

Losing to Shrewsbury, Nigel Jemson ruining my first crack at a terrace 😂

Losing to Liverpool Kids
Losing to Oldham
Losing to the worst Liverpool team in 40 years at Wembley, despite being 1-0 up at half time.

Losing 3-0 to Wigan, them going on to win the cup, and us missing a Championship Team in the Semi.

Miserable answer. But until i see us win it, then there will be no hsppy mempries. Very jealous of those who were present or remember cup wins.
No hsppy mempries but plenty of typing mistakes.

I think after the game their manager Martin O’Neil said never again will the give the whole end to an away support as it was like a home tie for Everton.

Semi final 2009
I was in the United end, but I could feel the atmostphere from the blues up the other end. The whole of that half (probably more than half) was bouncing long before kick off.
Afterwards it just felt amazing walking round outside Wembley and back to the station surrounded by blues singing.

Jan 1964 replay under light at home to Leeds.
Jimmy Gabriel (with help tbf) - in full on Conan the Barbarian mode - in for Alex Young at No.9 put all those faux hard men in the Leeds defence to the sword and they did not like it up em, they wilted, bottled it.

60+000 total Bear Pit...to my mind it set the bar for Bear Pits that may have been nearly equaled - but never suppased.

IMO, Revie, whose Leeds were looking set to win promotion, seeing his team destroyed was frightened to death...wtf? is this is what it's like in the 1st div.
This led to his Revie Plan MkII (Mk I being the, for the 1950s England, somewhat revolutionary variation of the false No9 plan)
This Cowardly MkII plan was to kick everything and disrupt the opposition's rhythm
Which we fell for in the notorious Battle of Goodison

The law of Unintended Consequences

Nobody mentioning Newport away?
Cardiff and millwall in our section, Cardiff made plenty of noise but done nothing as did about 20 millwall.
I think our fans were shocked cos the welcoming committee at the station before the game ran away, before most of us got off the train.
