Favourite FA Cup game.

Beating a decent spurs team 4-1 in 95, seemed like one of the easiest! But beating Man U in 2009, on the back of winning 3 free tickets to Wembley had me dreaming … . Still prefer the atmosphere from pre-Wembley SFs.

Sheeds' retaken free kick against Ipswich.
Dad had stopped going to the match by this time due to age and physical condition. Thankfully there were televised highlights and he loved this moment. Bear in mind my username and the fact that he was born in 1910. He had seen us in action from just after the First World War and had seen pretty much all the icons of the game to this point. I'm glad that towards the end of his life he saw/heard some of the best football ever albeit from my ball by ball description of the match, coupled with the MOTD highlights. God bless him and Kevin Sheedy!

Btw my Amazon delivery of the story of Dixie with Sligo Rovers arrived yesterday. Lovely book In the Shadow of Ben Bulben by Paul Little. Thanks for tipping me off @Joey66

My first trip to London was to see us win the cup in 1966, our neighbour Derek Temple score the winner I was 13 years old...My favourite FA cup memory. Oh and first

…..I’d go for the Southampton semi-final at Highbury. I was playing myself back then and there were very few live games, I remember listening to the radio commentary of the latter stages with my teammates in a pub.

It’d been so long since we’d seen success and the feeling when Heath scored was unforgettable.
I was there at Highbury
I can still remember that feeling
Goosebumps

Semi final 2009
I was in the United end, but I could feel the atmostphere from the blues up the other end. The whole of that half (probably more than half) was bouncing long before kick off.
Afterwards it just felt amazing walking round outside Wembley and back to the station surrounded by blues singing.
We were in the same end. The sight of 2/3 of Wembley bouncing in blue was incredible even if we wished we were in the right end
