Fat Ronaldo

That period was a strange one. I seem to recall we were also linked with Dahlin, who I thought was awesome but he went to Blackburn and was awful. We ended up with Amo, who again looked a world beater at that world cup, yet that semi-final aside, never really showed it. Of course that semi-final is probably enough, but still.after you go past three players and bosh one into the top corner from 25 yards, I hoped for more.

Aside from the semi final he did also get a brace against Newcastle in April 1995 to basically all but keep us up

Basically justified his Everton career with those two performances

Personally think if it wasn’t for his injuries he would have been the best player of all time by a country mile. Growing up watching him, Adriano and Ronaldinho play was a pleasure

I’m not having that. As an out and out striker even at his peak; he has been out scored by Messi and ronaldo (skinny).
Don’t get me wrong, he was excellent, I just think Messi and Ronaldo (Portuguese one) are another level but we have got used to them cos they are on tv so much.

Depends when you consider his peak mate. Up until his first major injury he was miles ahead of both Messi and Portuguese Ronaldos records.

I think Figo or Zidane summed it up the best for him. “He doesn’t defend, but we know if we pass the ball to him, he will score”.

Nothing more you can say about a striker really.
