Farhad Moshiri, What Is Next?

Give me Moshiri’s erraticness over Kenwright and Elstone’s conservatism any day. At least Moshiri offers the hope that if he spins the wheel enough times it might land right eventually. Before he came in the bird we’re quite happy to appoint, and keep, a manager who relegated Wigan and finished bottom half with us twice. Without Moshiri, Martinez would still be here, and we’d be having twitter spats with Joe Anderson about whether our cigarette pack drawing of Walton Hall Park constituted a stadium plan or not.

That is completely untrue. Under Kenwright we were stable AND getting better performances out of the managers he employed. And the money spent under Moshiri would have been there to spend under any other owner who came in - it's not difficult to generate cash when you sell £200M worth of players and the tv companies are throwing cash at you more than ever. As for the stadium: the club were within a hare's breath of securing one and were miles down that road than we ever will be under Moshiri with this BMD fantasy.

If he "spins the wheel enough times" it could spin out of control and crash. We're half-way there now.

What we needed after Kenwright was a man/group with real cash reserves and people who know what this industry is all about.

Think you’re over exaggerating some stuff under the Kenwright regime here. A ‘hare’s breath’ from a new stadium? If you even accept that (which I don’t), what would it have been? A pop up stadium built on the cheap at best. Certainly not the waterfront one Moshiri is proposing.

It is difficult to generate cash when you’re crippled by debt, which we were. Moshiri’s injection into the club has allowed for a larger wage bill and the ability to broker financing around the stadium. I’ll freely admit he had messed up the first two years of his tenure but I can’t see any argument for claiming that in the long run we’d be better off with Kenwright than Moshiri.

The clubs been in a flux for 2 years with 2 opposite factions butting heads

Take today Kenwright wants Howe and Moshiri wants the Porto fella or Silva.
Imagine it’s been like that since day one.
Then you have Walsh...need I say more
Hopefully this summer will be a fresh start for Everton

Why do you say Kenwright wants Howe, Mr. G?

Has he been quoted someplace, saying as much?

Wow, I’ve heard everything now, someone seriously advocating Kenwright over someone who’s spent 200m on additions, cleared the interest payments on the debt and actually progressed a stadium development plan!!

Absolutely mind boggling.

Everything about the Kenwright era has to be dismantled bar the Everton in the community work, which fair play to the man, he should be applauded for.

It's time for him to go though. At the time of Moshiri's purchase, without the full takeover I expected, I was prepared to accept evolution not revolution. But after two years this can't go on. All the major issues regarding the club at this time are up in the air.

Are we moving to the new stadium? Are we changing Manager? Is Brands definitely coming in as DoF? Etc...We all hope these questions and more are going to be answered in the coming months. The club is starting to lose it's identity and the motto, undermined.

Strong, sole leadership is what is required now, not two divisive camps pulling in opposite directions. You can't run a successful football club by committee.

So you would have been happy moving to Kirkby!

I'm not claiming that. I'm saying that, based on what he's done so far, we are well capable of becoming destabilised and slipping down the pecking order with that feller's chaotic view of the club and the industry we operate in.

I cant see how the logic works here when you say that we have gone into a slump with Moshiri but we can also hit the peaks with him. I dont see how one necessarily goes with the other. There will be no massive spending - the reverse in fact as the putative stadium (if it ever makes it beyond talking) will eat into our spending power.

There is no logical defence of Moshiri. It defo cant be "becuase he's not Kenwright".

If he delivers the stadium and nothing else except prem survival he’ll have done more for the club than Kenwright ever managed. He’s also however paid off our punitive debts to free us of interest repayments. This season has been poor, but signs are pointing towards someone who is at least trying to make us successful which is completely different to Kenwright who had no intention of us being successful.
