Stupid question, is it worth it to have a few quid left over or should I try to spend it all going into the first match day?

edit: I'm starting Naismith on the gamble that if he scores this weekend his value will go up. I also have Krkic so my only non-gamble forward is Giroud, does it make sense to have a little bit left over so I can make a change for next week?

Here's mine, so I have 3.5 in the bank to upgrade one of my gambles here. Is this worth it to do, or should I just spend it before tomorrow?

No offence, but there are a lot of problems with that team.

You've got no keeper option for GW1, 5/7 midfielders/attackers playing away from home, Lukaku as captain when he almost definitely won't start, no United players at all and Ron Vlaar who plays for Villa -- how many clean sheets will they get?

Krul is a great 2nd choice keeper but you really need a stronger first choice. Lloris, Szczesny and De Gea are all reasonable at 5.5 and Begovic looks a good buy at 5.0. Ward looked a good bet before but with Pulis' exit, it's a tough ask for them to get anything at the Emirates. Also think you've backed the wrong side of Manchester, as United have an easier start and a lot of confidence. Rooney looks a must have and Mata could be crucial. Additionally they've got loads of reasonably priced defenders to choose from.

Just my thoughts though!
You must have missed the part right above my picture where I mentioned I'd probably make Ramsey captain. Not sure who'd I prefer between playing the likes of Burnley away or United at home, but hey, gotta have someone at home right? I did actually change Guzan out for Mannone, I want to make sure I have something left over to add flexibility with transfers. To each his own, right?

Right. my thoughts now I've finally sorted my side out.

1) too much money spent on defenders. Get the cheapest defender in each side who will start. PS.Don't make your defenders captain.
2) too much money spend on a goalkeeper. A £4.5m keeper who starts every week will earn an insignificantly lower amount of points per game than the most expensive keeper. fact.
3) midfield is better, would look at replacing Johnson for someone who is guaranteed to be starting - Arnautovic £6.5m, Ashley Young £5.5m, Jordon Mutch £5.5m all guaranteed starters and should do well.
4) spend the money I've just saved you after you've changed your defence/keeper on the strikers from the top scoring side who will start; Rooney, Costa, Giroud, Sturridge, Dzeko (for now). Bojan is a decent pick, but how do you replace him if he has a duff week? I'd have at least one other gun forward

Haha can tell you're an avid fantasy footy player mate.

Best team I've seen so far. Only question mark is Luis -- I want him but he's just not nailed on to start. He's been crap in pre season and I wouldn't be surprised to see last year's back four continue for the immediate future.

Of course he might start, and if it's clear he's first choice he's got to be the best Chelsea defender, with his price/assist potential. Mourinho is such a bugger though, to guess.

As for the bench, a lot of people think Rose might actually get the nod over Davies. Have you thought about Kaboul for the same price? Should be first choice for the moment. Sigurdsson is a bargain.

PS. Ron Vlaar is cack. Villa will go down this season and will ship a horrible amount of goals. A good World Cup does not disguise this fact.
Seriously; there are two United defenders due to start tomorrow at the same price.

Exactly! Don't understand why he's so popular. You don't get points for being good with your national team!

I probably take it too seriously to be honest!!

Like your team, mate. Not sold on Caulker, but he's popular and his attacking threat is evident. But that doesn't change the fact that he plays for QPR and costs 5.0. Think your midfield is ace, got the big two up front. Naismith is surely worth a punt for GW1, and with Ross's injury who knows how much time he'll get for us.

Only thing I would say is the ordering of your bench. Sigurdsson is more than capable of getting some points against a weakened United defence, so I'd probably have him a lot higher up on the bench. Bearing in mind that should one of your defenders not be used, Simpson/Wisdom will be subbed on automatically, even if they're behind Sigurdsson as they'll always make the sub necessary to ensure you have at least 3 defenders, 1 striker etc. :)

Cheers mate.

Jesus, completely forgot you have to order your bench! Thanks for reminding me or I would've left it. I'll take it you're not posting your team? Top secret stuff? ;)

basically, two teams scored over 100 goals last season, defending is going more out of the game, as we saw at the WC.

hence why i've not really bothered too much with expecnsive defenders
