Mikel Arteta believes that the fans will play an important part in helping the Blues’ secure all three points against Newcastle this weekend.
The best little Spaniard we know scored Everton’s late equaliser last Saturday to gain a point against Manchester United as the Toffees grabbed two late goals in injury time to draw 3-3 at Goodison.
After the drama of last Saturday, the team is now focused on getting their first win of the 2010/11 season against the Magpies.
Speaking ahead of Everton’s fixture against the newly promoted North East team, Mikel said: “We have now got a massive game against Newcastle on Saturday. We know how important it is to win the home games and get the three points. Let’s see if we can go out and perform again.
“The fans will be important. They were terrific on Saturday - even when the game was looking bad for us. Nobody left the ground, they were terrific and we thank them for the support.”
