Fans can now watch Everton for less as Sky Sports launch new channels

If I can't make the match, it's radio Merseyside for me.

Never found a decent boozer to watch the away games on.

Ah - yes. I'd been reading what was on the BT TV site yesterday as I'm changing from that to the Virgin package. So they will actually be playing the prem league games that they also show on Sky 1 and 2 on the Sky Sports Extra channel. So with BT you lose the flexibility of Sky Sports 1 and 2 and gain 2 new channels that show Sky's packaged selection. And pay an extra £11 a month for the privilege. Nice!

So irritating!

It's things like this that force people to use the illegal stuff.

..I've had the full Sky Sports and movie package for as long as I remember but I have to admit to not being interested in many of the footy games. It's a bit overkill for me although Mrs Eggs will watch any game at any time.

Sports over here are an absolute rip off mate. It's mental that they don't allow it when match day revenue accounts for so little of a clubs income. Look at the buzz around us getting a new stadium. As if it won't sell out just because Saturday 3pm kicks start getting viewed on tv or because you can watch the game at home. Going the game will never die away. Showing more games means they can earn more from the tv rights, charge less for match tickets and get guaranteed sell outs. Even the maths behind what they do doesn't make any sense

I think it's more to do with the football league, they believe that if all the premier league games were widely available to people in the U.K. on TV, at 3pm, then the attendances for the; Championship, league One, League two, etc would all suffer and and the lower parts of the football pyramid would really suffer financially.

Me too but never paid more than £36 (£48 with a multiroom) for the lot so will just keep it all for now.

The vast majority of fans aren't going to watch their local lower division side whether can can watch their own team or not though. The money should be distributed more fairly through the leagues but I don't see how preventing people watching their teams will help that.

Amazon Fire TV Stick + install Kodi + pay 15 quid a month for a package to ntv.mx = watch every Everton game live (and get all sky / BT channels and loads of USA sports channels too).
... Yeah but I want to contribute to the club's coffers too. Bout time the premier league/ sky allowed clubs to stream they're own matches. I have been open to a season ticket type arrangement for all games for a while.... I imagine many non local fans want the same. Going to goodison is a right faff for some.... I wish my dad had stayed local to Wallasey .. He made me support a team I cant afford to watch in the flesh more often. Love him.... But damn him.

I don't think it's that, I think it's the idea that when it's minus 4 and hail stoning outside and someone who lives in Accrington thinks "should I pop down and watch the Stanley against Walsall at 3pm, or stay in, open a can and watch Tottenham vs Arsenal on Tv?"

You might be right, but people can already do it anyway, just not legitimately.

Because they're all doing so well financially now. o_O

Play all the games on Friday night then. Or Saturday at noon. Or Sunday at noon. There's literally a million options that don't include denying football fans the right to watch the game they want to, even if they pay for it.
