Fans can now watch Everton for less as Sky Sports launch new channels

It still amazes me that I can get every Everton game no problem in the States and you all can't. That's crazy to me.

Sports over here are an absolute rip off mate. It's mental that they don't allow it when match day revenue accounts for so little of a clubs income. Look at the buzz around us getting a new stadium. As if it won't sell out just because Saturday 3pm kicks start getting viewed on tv or because you can watch the game at home. Going the game will never die away. Showing more games means they can earn more from the tv rights, charge less for match tickets and get guaranteed sell outs. Even the maths behind what they do doesn't make any sense

Is that on normal tv mate or do you pay ?
I'd pay for the games to get a quality picture etc.
I would 100% pay a decent price, say a tenner or so to watch an away game.

Well, it may be changing this year but it's free. Free in the sense that it comes with a package on DirecTv that I already had. Apparently I'll have to pay $50 now to get all of them: http://variety.com/2017/digital/new...ternet-video-subscription-service-1202479721/

$50 to guarantee Everton every week isn't a big deal, but it's been free for the past 3-4 years so that hurts. On the other hand before NBC got the rights, not every Everton game was shown live, so it's better than that.

NFL used to have a rule that you couldn't get the local game unless it was sold out. For the winning teams this wasn't an issue. For the poor teams it was. But that was back in the free over the air days.

My feeling is if I'm paying for it, the revenue is going to the clubs anyway.

Depends if you're comfortable paying for it, but not sure you should be discussing this sort of thing in the forum

I think one of the online gambling companies will allow you to watch all of the 3pm kick offs (legally)

Well, last season I brought up that in Philippines I had a bad reception from SKY a couple of years back and didn't know how else to watch so ended up down the pubs late at night all alone...someone mentioned premierleaguepass but that closed down I think

Every game live for that price is still outstanding value.
Its easy money as the cameras are at every game anyway ?
And money that they lose due to streams.
For such a slick machine like Sky, its rather odd.

That rule around NFL wasn't very well thought through ha. Exactly, I understand people won't want match days to die but prices have been hiked a massive amount over the past 20 years and it hasn't kept people away.

Where about do you live mate?

It is, however keep in mind the NFL has been doing this for years and they will be charging $281.94 this season. I'd expect that to be closer to your price if they did that in the UK since the PL is your #1 sport and the NFL is ours.

Well they felt it would hurt attendance for better or worse. It's so expensive now to go to a game that the people who go, are going to go no matter what.

I'm in St. Louis.

You would still pay it to watch your own team every week though.
Some of the 'Super Sundays' are like proper gash.
Boro v Burnley last season etc..

And I have. For like 20 years. I support the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals, and I've paid for the NFL package and the MLB package that whole time. Some years it's been a financial burden, but worth it to me.

Apparently not mate.

Ah - yes. I'd been reading what was on the BT TV site yesterday as I'm changing from that to the Virgin package. So they will actually be playing the prem league games that they also show on Sky 1 and 2 on the Sky Sports Extra channel. So with BT you lose the flexibility of Sky Sports 1 and 2 and gain 2 new channels that show Sky's packaged selection. And pay an extra £11 a month for the privilege. Nice!
