It's a worthy successor...that was really what I was worried about most as Bethesda rarely fails in the gameplay dpt. It had a lot to live up to.

They never will, but Bethesda needs to make an Elder Scrolls based MMO.

That would be awesome to get an Elder Scrolls MMO. I have been on the Elder Scrolls train for a long, long time. It has culminated at Morrowind, although Oblivion has a lot of improvements, I still prefer Morrowind as it hasn't been...uhmm, whats the word.......simplified for the masses.

Fallout 3 brings a different aspect to the game engine and proves there is much life in the open-ended games with relative freedom of choice in how you play.

I just finished Fallout 3. Set it down for awhile and picked it back up.

A bit disappointed with how it finished for me as I hadn't done all the quests.

Still, a great game. I'm a PC gamer but I didn't have any issues with it.

Just bought Dragon Age: Origins and just started it. If you like RPG games, then this one might be for you. Stunning graphics. Still getting the feel of it but it was very highly rated by many PC game review websites.

Many games are linear, and those that claim to offer open world often incorporate invisible barriers, instant death for wandering from the battlefield, or stupid malaria as in FC2.

Fallout broke the mould, and offered a truly huge world of freedom.

I have some old football games such as Football manager, Championship manager, Fifa etc that I've never played, and various years on each that I'd gladly give away if someone covers the p&p costs.
About a dozen in all.

Nah, like Oblivion couldn't get into it.

Bombing through Dragon Age Origins at the moment, now THAT is a cracking little game.

It seems to me a lot of you are happy playing third person games.
Have you actually tried first person and experienced the difference?
FPS kick ass. :)

I like FPS games, but i seem to get on with Third person games better, Uncharted 2 and Gears of War are my favourite games.

I prefer 3rd person. Been playing Assassins Creed 2, and it's pretty awesome to be fair. Actually never been to Firenze, but would certainly like to.

Just completed Assassins Creed 2. A lot better than the 1st. More gameplay and a lot bigger. Batman:Arkham Asylum is good as well, just playing that now. If I have time to play games I prefer the bigger, more open worlds of Fallout or Oblivion though as they're just epic and you can spend ages playing them once you get into them. Fallout was slow for the 1st hour or 2 but got a lot better after you got out of the vault. Just got all 5 expansion packs for it on xbox live for half price so planning to go back to it over the weekend.

I'd have to go for Oblivion though, even though the graphics are a bit dated now compared to Fallout, the story and setting were more my type of thing with the medieval vibe. Can't wait for TES 5.
