Been saying the same myself for a long time as well. The thing is, we might still sign a loan or a bosman in the window, but that should not obscure the fact that Arteta (and probably Beckford as well) were sold to appease the banks. There was a strong rumour going around last spring that the banks were calling in the debt and wanted £10m pronto, and this has come to pass. If any player comes in during this window it should not detract from the fact that the future is very bleak to say the least. We are going to be selling our best young players for the foreseeable future. Better get used to it. Yes it's that bad under this lot.
Actually it's even worse than "not having any money to spend" - As far as I am concerned Moyes wants knighting for staying - anyone else with his record would have walked in the past few days.
Furthermore isn't it normal for Chairmen to resign when they've mislead the board.
