get the idea mr redsack just cant find his own players an just hijacks every ones targets ie;naughton and now it looks like crouch. if we start a rumour davie moyes is after some obscure league 2 player no doubt he would put a press realese out how "ive always been a fan of the boy" total tosser
 

Well I'm sure Barlow's Boots said we're not interested in him. So I guess that means we're not interested in him. Barlow's Boots has a 100% accuracy rate after all. :D
 

No young player with any sense would join City now. Im sure even players in their youth system are wanting out. Most of them know they have little or no chance of playing any first team football.
They had a decent youth set up there, it will be ruined with all the big money talent joining. To even force your way into the reserve side will be a struggle.

sorry to burst your bubble mate but against barnsley today we had some of our youth team playing for us and they did pretty well.

hughes has said they will get there chance and im sure they will,on the delph move it looks like hughes is close to getting him and the final valuation will be close to £9m which i think is over priced but we have to accept now that there is a different price for us considering were not shy with money.

its not good we are paying over the odds for players but us city fans just have to accept it.

theres a rumour knocking about that delph if we sign him will be loaned to everton as part of the lescott deal if it goes through.

you heard anything ??
 
If i was a youth player there i would be wanting out. Personally i think a lot of young players will look at other academies before yours.
Hughes played some today in Pre Season. It will be the last you see of any of them for a long time IMO. He has a lot of big name players to keep happy there. Even in the Carling cup you will have to play some big name players, just to keep them happy.

theres a lot of truth in what you say mate and i understand where your coming from but ideally i would like to keep them but like you say will they get a proper chance? im not so sure and the best they could hope for is the bench at the moment but im hoping they get a chance because theres some cracking kids at city and the next one to look out for is a kid called vladimar weiss who isa tricky winger.

That's the curse with all knowing you have the cash. They will inflate prizes since they know you have the money to pay it if you're really serious about your interest.

Nothing mentioned about the part swap deal for Lescott, and I for one think there won't be one either. We are a thin squad and need numbers, selling one player and get cash and another on loan isn't good in the long run. Cash + a permanent player would be more realistic or just a larger cash offer.

reason i ask is because that seems to be the word on the street that this is the case and everton are playing hard ball to apease the everton fans.

im not saying this is what i believe but just what ive heard from various places lads.

Jumping in. No, I dont.

The rumours were going round and round that Lescott had signed and Jo was part of the deal months ago. Then we rejected a £15mill bid, Jo's still on loan. Then it was Onuoha and £18mill...but he signed a 5 yer extension with you's (didnt he?).

Its just a giant rumour mate steaming from Jo coming back on loan. Jo has nothing to do with it being that Jo would've been sent on loan to any club in the premiership being he'd never get a game at Citeh and would be 5th choice striker.

There's been no agreement. Why would Lescott be on tour with the team, and be playing every pre-season games since coming back.

We will be in the [Poor language removed] defensively if he goes. We've no back up since Jags is not back till November. Another thing is that I've always said Citeh will not pay £25-30mill for him. Call it a matter or principle or a code of conduct by your owners so that "only a star name will cost over £25mill." Why else would you go in low and only add an extra 2-3mill at a time. The rumour now is a final offer of £22mill. We'll reject that outright.

Other capable defenders such as Alex and Bassong can be bought for a fraction less than Lescott and do the same job.

There's my view on it.

No I don't for a few reasons, mainly those that kenada_blue have stated already. But I do agree that that thought crossed my mind when we first got Jo.

But Lescott have been playing all our preseason games and even took a penalty against the MLS star team. Also other members of the team have gone out and stated that they want this rumors to end and Moyes have said that he won't sell any player. True the other players could be kept in the dark about it, but I seriously doubt either Moyes or Lescott would do that to the rest of the team since if it's true it would make Moyes loose credibility with the players. And credibility is one thing that's hard to earn when once lost.

Moyes isn't stupid, if this deal had been done many weeks ago he would have gotten another defender in to meld into the team during these weeks. It's not like he can get a CD and have him take his time to get to know the team and their way of playing before getting first team experience since the CD we get would be a starter from day 1 due to Jags injury. True, we are linked with Senderos now, but he has been available all summer so I don't think it's the solution if we sell Lescott.
