Jumping in. No, I dont.

The rumours were going round and round that Lescott had signed and Jo was part of the deal months ago. Then we rejected a £15mill bid, Jo's still on loan. Then it was Onuoha and £18mill...but he signed a 5 yer extension with you's (didnt he?).

Its just a giant rumour mate steaming from Jo coming back on loan. Jo has nothing to do with it being that Jo would've been sent on loan to any club in the premiership being he'd never get a game at Citeh and would be 5th choice striker.

There's been no agreement. Why would Lescott be on tour with the team, and be playing every pre-season games since coming back.

We will be in the [Poor language removed] defensively if he goes. We've no back up since Jags is not back till November. Another thing is that I've always said Citeh will not pay £25-30mill for him. Call it a matter or principle or a code of conduct by your owners so that "only a star name will cost over £25mill." Why else would you go in low and only add an extra 2-3mill at a time. The rumour now is a final offer of £22mill. We'll reject that outright.

Other capable defenders such as Alex and Bassong can be bought for a fraction less than Lescott and do the same job.

There's my view on it.

a great post mate with a lot of insight(y)

To continually disrupt our preparations and dampen spirits ?

i wanted him 2 years ago. Shame our scouts do not read this forum .

blah blah blah

etc etc etc

They've got bigger fish to fry than to foil the plans and be worried about a team who cant bag a Sweadish no name winger and a Championship right back, me old mucker.

Money is no object for Citeh. Why worry about £25mill?

No major signings, twleve days until kick off ... and counting. Gave up on this guy quite a while ago though ...

ONeil does like to over pay for for young English talant though.

I personally dont rate the lad that highly. But that's just me.

I wanted him here, am a big fan oh his, yetiy is a risk. Moyes watched him a lot from Jan onwards i guess our lack of a bid means one thing that Moyes doesnt see him as a 8 mill pound player.

Could turn out to be a good deal for Villa many eye brows were raised when he signed Young for the fee he did.

A lot of money to pay for a young player who has only competed at the lower levels of English football.
Haven't seen a lot of the guy to be honest, so i couldn't really say if he might be worth it or not. For us it would be a big gamble to pay that money out, for Villa its not AS big of a gamble. They have far more money to spend on transfers than we do.

The League One club also revealed that, since settling on a fee with Villa, other top-flight teams have tried to hijack the deal.

A club statement read: "Leeds United can confirm that a fee has been agreed with Aston Villa for Fabian Delph.

"Leeds United wishes to place on record our appreciation for the honourable manner in which Aston Villa have conducted their interest in the player.

"The club has resisted approaches from other FA Premier League clubs since agreeing terms with Aston Villa.

"Having given Villa our commitment to transfer the player (subject to medical), we had no intention of going back on that."

Think this is a side swipe at Man City given Moyes/Neville's recent quotes about their pursuit of Lescott? Or a swipe at clubs like Spurs (Naughton deal)
