Fabien Delph???

I tend to believe Leeds CE, rather than "The Daily Mail".

But Leeds chief executive Shaun Harvey said: "Despite the speculation, there have been no offers for Fab since the end of the season".

Remember that time when a club denied reports of a player leaving but then they actually did leave, those were the days.

Would be a good signing if true.

Apparantly he's gonna be one hell of a player

However after last year i'm not getting my hopes up about signing anyone

Never seen him play, but I'm all for signing young talented prospects like he seems to be. However, if we're going to spend 4 million on a 19 year old, I think Moyes must have a bigger transferkitty as first thought. We're desperately short in squad depth and can't see Moyes spending that much of a 'presumably small transferfund' on a completely unproven player at the highest level.

Ive heard a lot about him. Only seen him play once and he didn't impress much.
Strange that Leeds were quoting prices of over 10mil for him a while back, and now the mail claims hes joining us for 4mill?
I will believe it when i see him paraded in a blue shirt and not before.(y)

A player with the potential to go right to the top, Moyes scouted himself personally last season, so there may be legs in this one.

The intresting thing in Leeds statement was they said they hadnt received any offer said nothing about approaches, equally they didnt say htey wouldnt welcome an offer either.

This one has Moyes finger prints all over it, a player with potential who will improve and possibly turn into a great player. I mentioned last night that he is the type of player we need in our squad, way to listen Moyesy!

If we signed Delph for £7m, it clearly wouldn't be a £7m lump sum though.

And tbh, signing quality young players is probably the only way we're going to end up with top class players - we just don't have the cash to buy them ready made

While I agree with you in some aspects, I think we need to go for great talents who have lost their way somewhat. Take Piennar as an example. Ajax young player of the year, went to Germany and flopped. one loan signing and £2.5m later, we have a £6-£7m* player on our hands.

*Made up as most fees are but I reckon thats quite close to the mark.

If we where looking to do great business, and nothing but great business, we could sign this lad for £7m now, and sell him for 3x that in 5 years.
