My Brother told me that Sky sports news reported on Friday afternoon that he turned us down. I cannot find it anywhere but he was adament he saw it on there

I certainly hope we come back with a good offer to take this lads to Goodison, he is young, has pace, has good shots range, we certainly could do with more player who could trouble the keeper from mid-range.

It is such a shame he wasn't playing in the Championship or else it would be a bargain if he only cost 5-7M, then again if that was the case Leeds would probably looking for more then.

We all know Moyes is one of the best manager when it comes to unearth gem like Delph, so whether or not he is worth us spending the money, he should know?

But with Delph who is only 20 and already showing us he has great ability and potential, should worth us spending this money.

When we make these bids, do you think Moyes is always outraged when we get turned down cos he thinks he makes fair offers, or do you think he would say to himself 'oh well, another club who aren't idiots' ??

A lot of noises around that we have bid 3.8 mill riseing to 6.8 mill based on appearences, success etc.

May have been one of the offers rejected.

I'm telling you, Bates will want a huge chunk of £6mill straight up. The lad could've been sold to United, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool etc when the January window opened, they never paid up because its a bit of gamble paying £6mill for a league 1 player. The Leeds fan I knew was pretty much certain he's going but Bates would milk it for all its worth.

So unless a team is willing to throw money at him, he wont be going anywhere IMO

Very possible mate, its gathering pace the rumour though, yesterday they had no bids, the manager said they would bascily consider a sell, today two clubs have bid both rejected, i would be surprised if one wasnt us, Moyes scouted him personaly a lot from Jan onwards.

We will prob be gazumped by Villa, given our copy book is blotted with Leeds after Garbutt.

Forget all that its in tomorows Daily Mail so its all rubbish:

Fabian Delph has emerged as Martin O’Neill ’s main summer target, with Leeds United last night rejecting an opening offer for their prized asset.

The 19-year-old is the subject of two bids - from Aston Villa and Everton - with the prospect of a bidding war now imminent for the England Under 21 international after the Premier League rivals broke cover.

Delph fits O’Neill’s policy of buying homegrown players and he needs to add midfield strength following Gareth Barry's £12million move to Manchester City.

However, Leeds confirmed that two approaches had been rebuffed for a player who has enjoyed only one full season of football with the League One club.

Manager Simon Grayson was playing his cards close to his chest last night, saying:

‘There have been lots of enquiries but we want to keep hold of Fabian. Then again, every player has a price. Manchester United got a good price for Cristiano Ronaldo.

‘No-one expected Fabian to leave six months ago, but in football that happens. He’s a talented player and you can’t get away from the fact there are going to be some Premier League clubs enquiring about him.
‘But he’s under contract and any decision on players leaving the football club has to be the right decision for us and the player as well.’

Grayson is under no pressure to offload Delph and has been assured by chairman Ken Bates that Leeds do not need to cash in on Jermaine Beckford either - despite the Yorkshire club also confirming that two offers had been made for the striker, believed
to be from Coventry City and Sheffield United.

After losing in the play-offs last season to Millwall, the Leeds boss must be hopeful of using a large chunk of any windfall to add the four players he feels would be necessary to launch a more sustained promotion push.

Bates turned down two approaches for Delph from unnamed suitors during last January’s transfer window and it would take an offer in excess of the £6m quoted for the ex-Chelsea chairman to change his mind.

It has been a remarkable rise for youngster Delph, who only two years ago was part of the club’s youth team.

He has risen via the reserves into the first team and signed a four-year contract
following a fantastic start to the last campaign.

He carried off three prizes from the Leeds awards’ night - the young player, the players’ player and goal of the season for his stunning effort against Brighton.

Delph capped his extraordinary rise by earning an England Under 21 cap.

He has been admired from afar by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and there is hope among Leeds officials that other bidders will now formalise their interest in the player after learning that he is on the wish-lists of O’Neill and Everton’s David Moyes.

A lot of international players are still on their jollies. May need to wait a week or two before our calibre of player starts to become available.
