If only he had that much of an impact.New Phil Neville.
Read into that what you like.
I'd take the first 4/5 years of Neville over Delph any day of the week.

Fabian Delph receives the ball. He looks up and sees three players are making good runs in front of him, he looks around. He’s under no pressure. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in. The words of his mentor Pep speak in a soft Catalonian accent in his ears “express yourself Fabian, express yourself my child. He opens his eyes, the players are still running. He chooses to turn 180°, he turns another 90° one way and then the other, he Cruyff turns thin air the opposition are still nowhere near him. He wraps his left foot around the ball and plays a pinpoint lobbed pass to Coleman 5 yards to the side and slightly behind him. Coleman shins the ball out of play, Delph calls him a knobhead, balance is restored.

Absolutely.Neville was a good player, I don't get the hate for him. He was far better than Delph or Schneiderlin.

Playing delph next to a creative midfielder who looks to get forward to some degree would be fine.
Amount of times last night we would have the ball near the street end and both Delph and Gomes were 20 yards away from the box. Gomes should have been sitting close to the edge for rebounds, cut backs, clearances.
Playing them both together just isn't great as neither are going to push on and cause problems.
But if we are going to have one midfielder doing that role then I'd have Gomes ahead of delph every time.
All being well we shouldn't be seeing him in lineups other than to cover injuries
Not a fan of him at all. Not an upgrade on Schneiderlen, in fact I rate him more. Coward on the ball, makes the easy pass too often and when he makes a long ball it's a floated ball that either doesn't make the player or gets cut out. Plus he doesn't even protect the defence as well as I thought, he's certainly no Gareth Barry. Would much rather Davies play.
...fine last night, thought some of his passing from deep was very decent.
Thought he'd be far more effective than he's turned out to be,siging a player late on in his career is always a risk,as it stands this one hasn't come off.I'm very disappointed by him so far. Both in terms of attitude and performance.
Schneiderlin is the worst midfielder in the Premier League, Delph is much much better.
Can also bet Delph won’t be crying in interviews that he left his big club too early.
I think he’s done alright so far, not been any worse than our other midfielders.
