It's exceedingly dangerous to suggest we never question any decision Brands makes

He's not infallible and we're not a cult
No one is suggesting we are. At this moment in time we have no need to question him as this is probably journalist filling column inches. IF we did sign Delph then I wouldn't be over the moon, but I trust Brands knows what he is doing. I remember people getting all revved up about Barry coming here and look how that turned out. Not that I'm saying Delph would turn out to be as good.
Then his prime isn’t anything special.
Agreed, but it was to emphasise that 29 is not old and he should be in the best period of his career.

He’s not a very good player, maybe a good player at best, even though I remember some shocking performances for England, one against Italy stands out when all he did for 90 minutes was pass the ball to them. He doesn’t score goals, not really a defensive midfielder.

Maybe on a very cheap deal as a squad filler, if we ship out McCarthy, basic abs Schneiderlin. But not for 15mil and matching his city wages of 90k a week, all of a sudden the deal becomes 30/40 mil. For a player who’s had injury issues and turns 30 in November.

I thought we were meant to getting away from these type of deals.
This 100%

He plays where, then? Because he would have to be a starter, so who gets dropped? Siggy? We sell Gueye?

It's a no for me. Good player but just can't see how he fits

Probably most of them were at left back, because they had no one else. And id imagine most of the other games were in the league cup, early rounds of the FA. Cup, European dead rubbers and games at the end of the season when the Title is already won. Ie 17/18 season.

End of the day. If city have a fully fit squad he wouldn’t make the bench.
City being famously loath to sign players for any money at all to solve the problems in their squad.

We can question him if he actually signs him.

As of now his record has been pretty spot on (questions over Mina so far I suppose).

Nothing wrong with questioning him sure, also nothing wrong with showing a bit of faith as his record so far means he deserves a bit of it for me.

It's not like Delph is a shockingly bad player or anything.
