Probably most of them were at left back, because they had no one else. And id imagine most of the other games were in the league cup, early rounds of the FA. Cup, European dead rubbers and games at the end of the season when the Title is already won. Ie 17/18 season.

End of the day. If city have a fully fit squad he wouldn’t make the bench.

He made 8 starts for them last season in the league, 2 in the league cup, 3 in the FA cup, 2 in the CL.

City played over 60 games last season.

Gueye was playing his first season in a new league, questioning his purchase was legitimate. Not really the same thing.

Gueye played well for Villa though. People just saw his team got relegated and assumed he was crap.

Delph is coming from the league champions...

I find it mad that people would turn their nose up at him. He's not a game changer or anything for me but he is a solid player who would do a lot of good for us.

A great signing. All well and good buying younsters but need a few senior heads to point them in the right direction.

Genuinely reckon this would be a great signing. He’s a very good player, can play in multiple positions across midfield and defence too.

Sign him up <15m
He’s not a very good player, maybe a good player at best, even though I remember some shocking performances for England, one against Italy stands out when all he did for 90 minutes was pass the ball to them. He doesn’t score goals, not really a defensive midfielder.

Maybe on a very cheap deal as a squad filler, if we ship out McCarthy, basic abs Schneiderlin. But not for 15mil and matching his city wages of 90k a week, all of a sudden the deal becomes 30/40 mil. For a player who’s had injury issues and turns 30 in November.

I thought we were meant to getting away from these type of deals.

Doesn’t get in our team now. And we finished 8th surely if we want to push fir top 4. We need a midfielder that will put Gana or Gomes on the bench. On a cheap deal maybe a decent squad player with others leaving.

But if he’s costing 15mil and is wanting high wages, it’s a mad deal and a waste of money.

Have Brands and Silva got anything wrong transfer wise so far?

If they want him then that will do for me until they prove they cant be trusted.

15M is nothing these days either.

My relative level of excitement or fear depends on his prospective contribution to the wage bill. I'm guessing that I should be afraid.

If we got him in a loan like we did Barry it's a no brainer. People have these weird biases that just because he's English he's not exciting. Not every signing can be a £40m Brazilian wonderkid. Some players have to be squad players and we need leadership. Delph was always highly thought of by Pep and great for City's dressing room. He's miles better than Schneiderlin and Davies and he'd be ideal as a backup. He also easily has at least 3 years left at the top level at the minimum. It's a squad game, we need squad players who are Premier League quality.

It's not like he's Drinkwater at Chelsea who's never played for them, if he had stayed fit he'd have probably played a lot more for City and just because he can't get in the City team doesn't mean he's not good enough for us. Christ I mean we're all delighted with the Barca cast offs we've been getting and are linked to yet when it's City who are just as good a team it's a terrible idea.

Just because Brands may have said we want to target younger players on long contracts it doesnt mean we're literally not going to sign any older player, that'd be ridiculous. Young foreign potential players surrounded by older premier league players with experience is the ideal scenario for us. Especially ones who've actually won something in their careers. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see people turn their noses up at Aguero at this stage because "He doesn't fit Brands' profile" (and no that's not me saying that Delph is on Aguero's level)
