Why would Verstappen or whoever near the front go for a risky overtake if the consequence is they either gain a position or crash out and start at the back of the grid Sunday?

The risk/reward ratio is too low.

Yeah there's not enough points at stake in the sprint race. It should probably be half or at least a third of the normal points total. As you say there's not enough reward for the risk.

Agree with maybe the 10 laps but imagine this is it was raining etc be even madder. Perez had a mare there.

Another observation about this season: Max has been absolutely brilliant off the line every single time. I don't think he's lost a position off the grid so far. Hamilton has never been the best starter and now there is even more pressure being heaped onto this part of his driving.

They’re that far ahead in terms of points anyway but I get your point. Think having these points in a close championship will make these sprint races more exciting.

Yeah, fingers crossed next year's cars bring everyone closer.

Chances are all we've seen today is pretty much how it's going to end tomorrow, just with bigger gaps at the end.
