It has been all Red Bull since Hamilton's win in Spain. They have been absolutely dominant.

Max is driving better than ever
32 point lead
fastest car, with more developments in the pipeline
bulletproof reliability (so far)

Championships have been won and lost from further back than this in the past, but this championship is now Verstappen's to lose.

Yep, he seems perfectly relaxed leading the way.

Quite a leap from the hot headed loon of 2 years ago.

I'm a little bit confused with the concept of sprint races tbh, how is it better than the normal set up? surely it hurts people like Russell, no?

I think I understand it but unsure if I like it. I actually like the current qualifying format. I’m intrigued to see how this works out.

if hamilton and verstappen smash into each other on the first lap do they start back of the grid lol?

I guess so? as they would be a DNF in the sprint race??

Also the sprint race grid is decided by.... a qualifying session! (on the Friday).

Gonna be interesting to watch, but I am guessing the outcome will be as predictable as it usually is.

I reckon it might end up being quite dull.

I'll be surprised if after the qualifying on Friday people will get really racey during the sprint. Any positional changes likely down to car infront making a mistake rather than hard racing.

Why risk wrecking your car for virtually no points advantage?

Sprint Qualifying has the potential to show off all the worst aspects of F1.

My biggest concern would be if there is a long SC period then we could easily spend half the SQ rolling arounf behind the SC which would make rather a mockery of the idea.

But yeah, a 17 lap sprint basically is like the first stint of a grand prix, there's no scope to try anything tactically and the biggest mix up for grid positions for Sunday is likely to be because of first lap contact with a rival.
