But, in the afternoon, stacked clouds will form, which may develop into a heavy thunderstorm in the region. The maximum temperature will be 27 degrees. The easterly wind is weak, but showers can cause strong wind gusts.

If a thunderstorm develops, it will move slowly. A thunderstorm that will make the track wet has to occur close to or even right above it. The chance of this happening between 14:00 and 17:00 is about 30%. The chance that it will stay dry is, therefore, higher.

The eventual shower can be very intense with thunderstorms and a lot of rain in a short time. It is, however, very localised. It is even possible that a part of the circuit will be soaking wet, while another part will remain almost dry. A heavy thunderstorm can also cause wind gusts, even if the rain falls a few kilometres off the track.

Verstappen is going to have a big lead by the time these two races are over. Typical F1 to promise such a great title battle only for it to flop after a few races.

A piece fell off his car earlier on, and he has said over the radio that there was a small brake-by-wire fault, so it may not be over yet.

Only chance Merc have is a pit stop around lap 60 to softs or whatever and see if they can drive Verstappen down.

Of course, if they do that, RB just pit the lap after and do the same thing, so hardly matters. Verstappen wins at a canter.

I said it last season and people questioned it but I'm more sure than then ever that Verstappen breaks Lewis' win record and in way less time than you could possibly imagine. He'll have 20+ by the end of this season. The only thing that can stop it is if Norris and LeClerc get similar machinery and quick.

Long long way to go for him on that count. Will need 6-8 years of similar dominance, and a lot can and does change in a sport over that sort of period.

Will be easier however now that there are more races in a season. That's why it's not an really easy to compare simple # wins. Remember the budget cap and restricted development rules are all designed to handicap the most dominant team.

Besides, I don't think Hamilton is done winning, even if this year slips away Mercedes seem to be putting a lot of effort into next year's car. He can drive for another couple of years and set the bar around 110-115 wins before finally calling it a day.

The future of F1 is going to be more balanced and competitive than ever before, throw in the sports willingness to experiment with race formats and the records could end up being somewhat irrelevant if we eventually move to a two race format each weekend which seems inevitable imo.
