However, if the team have let him down on fuel calculations then unfortunately it's disqualification.

I can't see how though as they are usually so accurate with fuel. (and they had 2.5 laps behind a safety car.)

Did he stop the car straight after finishing? I think he went on for quite a bit if so that decision cost them big time.

As much as the racing attracts fans, this sort of behind the scenes, post race stuff has the opposite effect.
I know the reasoninf behind it, and understand it to a degree, it just irritates me that after a race like that, officials are stepping in to ruin someones very rare day

If they had enough fuel for a sample Aston Martin should appeal it. If it's really true they had insufficient fuel it's on them and not stewards favouring Hamilton.

Because when they stop they still have to have enough to form a 1 litre sample. Sometimes they don't and its a DQ every single time as far as im aware.

Its a basic error. The only person to be mad at is Aston Martin as every other team managed to supply a 1L sample
