I think there has been some improvement on and off the pitch this season and that we are on the right track. I just hope it is not yet another false dawn..... this summer needs to result in some of the squad being moved on and an influx of real quality. If Moshiri is serious about putting us back on the map....this next season is crucial for us.

Imagine if RK had got his way and had actually got Sissoko? 30 million transfer plus a 5 year contract . Total 60 million investment
in a bloke who is not very good and has a bad attitude.

Moyes said that nobody can be sure how a transfer will turn out but I smiled when Spurs bought Sissoko and was sure that Sunderland was doomed when he got Victor and Pienarr.

In order for EFC to win a trophy next season other than luck will be the ability to buy 4/5 top players who will immediately gell and start to
play well. And lets be honest how likely is that? Maybe the season after next...

You're spot on except for blaming Moyes doom on Big Vic. They actually played some of their best stuff with Defoe playing off of him

Expectations for me.

Going into the last 3-4 games of the season with something still to play for, be that being in the mix for the top 4, the fa cup or the Europa league, preferably two of those things.

Maintaining our home record to a great degree and improving our away performances and results significantly.

And for the squad to finally step its game up rather than go missing in crucial games.

Oh yeah, and a summer where we get business done early and markedly improve the quality of players in the team
I don't expect any of that unless we keep, and add to our best players. I just hope to.

i'd like us try and do a man utd

aim for top 4, if not possible try and win Europa league as a route to get into the champs league

compete in the cup competitions as well and maybe win one (like utd winning the carling cup / capital one cup).

All the teams above us at the moment had realistic expectations of winning the title, unless we can entertain the same hopes next season, we will remain where we seem to have been for over a decade, on the periphery. That would not show any improvement.

Think it's a bit more complicated than just one of those options.

This season we have proven that we are not as good as the top 6, but better than the rest of the league.

Next season I want us to close the gap on the top 6. Essentially, I want us to make it a proper top 7 rather than the top 6 then us. If we finish 7th, but have been in the mix for the top 6 all season, I'll be disappointed but I'll accept some progress has been made.

I'd love to break into the positions above us but you have to remember that we can only control the games we play - every other side above us may improve and we'd realistically need at least one of them to falter next season to be able to close the gap on them with just one summer window.

This season has been fine, but next season I want a good run in all of the cups (a trophy would be lovely) and I want to be a genuine part of the the top 7, challenging for top 4.

Season 3 is where I want to see either an actual top 4 finish or a trophy as the minimum requirement.

Unless we spend heavily I don't see anything but 7th again. We have some good players but to mix it with the top six we need to spend a lot of money on top quality players. And we need to start beating the teams above home an away. Mentality needs to change....

Much will depend on how well we do in the close season ,obviously. We need more depth and quality in the squad. We also desperately need more creativity in the team , something we've been missing for too long now. How well the triumvirate of Koeman , Walsh and Unsworth perform in the coming months will, I believe, define next season. I am expecting us to be in amongst the clubs above us, to hope for anything less from where we stand now seems pointless.

We've got to win a trophy, even if it's only the League Cup. The club so badly needs to scratch this itch, I truly believe we can onto great things after we finally end the drought, like we did in '84. It's a huge rock we need to drop before we can really go forward.

The only scenario I'd accept for us going another year without winning anything would be us finishing in the top four instead.
