Seeing as he was offered an invitation, I would be intrigued to know who else was invited. If there is one player whom the supporters would unanimously not welcome, it would probably be him. Surely someone at the club should have known better.

One notable absentee who I don’t think even got in the video messages: Lampard. Think he’s still well liked for the connection he had and gave us one of the more recent iconic Goodison moments, didn’t expect him to be there but would’ve got a warm reception on the screen. Hope he was at least asked.

Sort of surprised lescott was there. He was a great player for us but if you put in a request you dont want to play for Everton it changes it a bit. Well for me it does. No grudge mind.
Would have liked to seen Paul Power there. No Colin Harvey is the only choker though.

If he was invited, I’d imagine the invite went out to pretty much every former player. Even though id then probably be a bit disappointed that that was then the turnout.

Came out in conversation during a golf competition. My lad asked was he going with the short concise response of "am I ****"

I hate Nick Barmby.
Had 4 good games when he first arrived, then nothing, then wanted to go to Liverpool.
What a stupid thing to do to invite him.

I Didn’t know anything about that. I remember a sheedy interview when he referred to VDH as a ‘strange character’, which I thought was a bit revealing. Anyway, he was as mad as a hatter on the pitch and our main enforcer. Solid player.
