I'v recently come across videos uploaded by other teams like Liverpool, City and Chelsea across YouTube. They have their own channels on there, which we don't. The editing and the videos furthermore are great insight for fans. I watch Everton TV myself and the editing and format of our channel is well below par, I like the way the other teams produce a channel free for fans to all view via YouTube which gives you insights to how the club and players are behind the scenes.
The tunnel cams to each game and the banter the editing staff have with the players is great, this must also attract new fans across the world to come in and see their clubs behind the scenes.
When I search for Everton however there is not one channel bar a few fan made ones updated about 2 years ago. I don't know whether its Everton sticking to Everton TV to raise more money. If you ask me I think this is a marketing opportunity too stupid to miss.
Here are a few teams with their subscriber numbers and channel views;
CHELSEA FC - 213,472 subscribers - 60,884,180 video views
LIVERPOOL FC - 146,365 subscribers - 19,600,658 video views
MANCHESTER CITY FC - 160,995 subscribers - 86,835,662 video views
FC BARCELONA - 833,855 subscribers - video views unstated I'll leave it to your imagination
There are many more for other teams as well. Barcelona have nearly 1 billion subscribers!!! no wonder I see so many videos of them popping up on my YouTube because of this. In this age everything's about marketing and I just think Everton need to step it up a little bit and get with the new era?
