Everton Youth Teams Thread

Some achievement by Venezuela to get to the final. The Uruguayans were very confident of winning the tournament outright.

In Venezuela, only kids that are not obese enough to play baseball play football, apart from the Andes region. They have a really small pick.

Cant be easy for them either with all the trouble in their country at the moment.

Reading the comments it looks like a well deserved win and our boys did us proud. Haven't really watched any other games but JJ has been so consistently good he must have a chance of player of the tournament, if they have such a thing.

Best players for Venezuela:

Yangel Herrera (Captain) is a Man City player.
Peneranda (bleach-haired forward) is a Watford player.

Farinez (GK), Soteldo (tiny winger) and Cordova (tournament top scorer I think). All play local but heavily scouted.

...I'm not on twitter but I saw something from an Oxford fan saying Kenny is the best player in the tournament. He was encouraging other Oxford fans to watch. They feel he is one of their own which is nice.

Brilliant in all but one game so far mate, lads ready for our starting 11, promise he showed in the under 17s tournament win when Roberts was the only English player close to him he's showing again here.

He's a mix of Baines and Coleman, with a bit of both players best attributes. Commentators are absolutely wetting themselves about him too, if we don't start playing the lad, someone will come in after him.

i have an interest in youth football and I've been watching this tournament. I've got to say your young players look fantastic. kenny and dowell ? look ready for the everton first team imo.

..very nice of you. The two you mention are local lads who have come through our system so we're particularly proud of what they're achieving in the competition.

..I had my heart in my mouth those last 15mins in case he picked up another booking meaning he missed the final. He's a great team player, you can imagine the manager and teammates love him. The type you look at in the dressing room and know you won't be scared of the opposition.

He looks every bit a worthy successor to Baines and Coleman as the next exceptional fullback from us mate.

..that would be some achievement for a RB. I'd also give a mention to the big England CB. I know he scored an unforgettable own goal but he has been a colossus. It's no surprise that him and Kenny are the only outfield players to play every minute of every game.

Colemans out injured until after Christmas mate, so really hopeful that Kenny is given the chance to play and we dont sign some journeyman there, no doubt at all if he gets the chance we will see him show he's ready at the top level.

...my phrase "he plays like the game matters" has never been truer.

Every interview I've ever read from him he comes across as someone mature and who knows just how hard and much he needs to work on improving mate, this seasons his big chance with Coleman's injury to make himself integral . He's given the chance he will take it I'm certain
