Astonishing lack of foresightIt’s a competition that’s been running for the best part of 150 years, I don’t think they envisaged multi club ownership by American billionaires when they named it, the luddites.

Have there been histrionics? Most people seem to be parroting the embarrassingly simple ‘no more jobs for the boys’ line (despite us appointing a former manager and his mates, and allowing the new ceo to bring all his mates from his current lower league job) but you seem to be taking issue with a rare post saying maybe actually this was a bit harsh, which seems odd.the sale of Tom Cannon was the only difference between us and another 10 point deduction. Again I find it hard to comprehend that Vaughan had that much impact on him. Same with Armstrong, he’s a player that’s been on Championship/League One radars since October, it seems like it would be harder to mess up a loan move for him. Not disputing that Vaughan might have had some impact, but one was a player on the edge of the first team squad when he first came in and the others a lad that had played senior football for us before his loan. He’s hardly been the deciding factor in these players careers.
Same with the academy recruitment. He’s been in post 12 months. It’s hard to say exactly how much impact he’s had as the majority will have been done earlier - Braiden Graham had been scouted and signed before that point.
Like don’t get me wrong, wouldn’t say he’s done a bad job, but I don’t get the histrionics like we’re letting some unreal player whisperer walk away.
Crisis over
Probably a bit late to this but I think I read somewhere that he's found a new job somewhere else?Yep I don't think there can be any legitimate gripes against Vaughan. He has improved the academy and pathways year on year. Practically turned water into wine with Tom Cannon. I really don't know who had the authority to make such a change though.
I mean multiple posts about what a brilliant job he’s been doing and asking who had the authority to do it seemed a bit OTT.Have there been histrionics? Think he's had a few injuries this year but I agree.I like the look of Beaumont Clarke every time i see him, interesting he dosent start every game though

Cannon got the loan to Preston off the back of Vaughan's relationship with James Wallace (was this luck?, right place right time?)the sale of Tom Cannon was the only difference between us and another 10 point deduction. Maybe people on this thread show an interest in the Academy, have a good understanding of who the key people are , know that Thelwell is leaving and are wondering who’s making decisions. Nothing OTT about that , unless you have no interests in the Academy.I mean multiple posts about what a brilliant job he’s been doing and asking who had the authority to do it seemed a bit OTT.
Especially with this quote:
Academy director Gareth Prosser said: “James has decided to take up an opportunity elsewhere and will leave Everton later this month. On behalf of everyone at the club, I’d like to thank James for his service and wish him all the best for the future.
I mean you didn’t wonder, it was the club right away:Maybe people on this thread show an interest in the Academy, have a good understanding of who the key people are , know that Thelwell is leaving and are wondering who’s making decisions. Throughout my career companies used the phrase “ leaving to pursue opportunities elsewhere “ when managers were being eased out. If he’s got an opportunity lined up good for him , I’ll watch with interest how things develop.
And it’s turned out instead that it’s been Vaughans decision because Bobbles now a half a story ITK.Quite worrying as to who is making these footballing decisions, what they are based on and what their future plans are.
Heh you’re the one who launched into hyperbole with cries of “ histrionics” , “ OTT” on what were fairly routine discussions , just because people apparently disagreed with you. I’ll avoid doing that.I mean you didn’t wonder, it was the club right away:

I’ll tread carefully as to be honest your posts are not the clearest to understand , but if it helps here’s what hyperbole meanscarry on softshite. It’s hyperbole when someone is claimed to be some amazing asset to the club based on nothing and imply people don’t know what their having forced them out the door, when in reality it’s someone moving on to a different job which is mega common in academy football.
