Everton Youth Teams Thread

I would say Benjamin is doing ok, scores goals at u21s but expectations need to be managed, you rarely pick up a discard from another PL club and have him playing in your first team months later. He’s a different type of player from Sherif. While I like Benjamin more Sherif in his size and style is much more suited to replacing Beto from the bench if needed if you don’t want to change the style of play. I would certainly have had Benjamin on the bench instead of Ebre , but again it’s different styles of player.
I actually disagree as I think Ebere is our best youth attacker if he can stay clear of injuries. Though I suspect he may be out of contract the summer so will most probably be released if that's the case

I see Sean McAllister has signed for Marine in National League North until the end of the season . While he was always some way away from the first team he was decent enough when he was captaining the u21s , certainly above NL North level . If he hadn’t have suffered those injuries he’d likely be League 2 standard now , so hopefully he rises up the leagues

Fair enough , we have different views . When he burst on the scene at 15/16 year old I remember him for his part in a wonderful length of pitch goal, interchanging with Dixon for Emilio Lawrence to score. Raw and powerful then . There’s certainly a degree of composure in his play now but I wouldn’t rate him our best youth attacker. He scored a great goal recently for the u21s , I’ll see if I can fined it .

What you think we should be looking to do with him next season benjamin loan to the championship or lower?
If he gets first team bench time it’ll help , but we’ve had so many u21s on the bench this season it counts for little, so I think it’ll come down to his pre-season , hopefully he’ll make the same progress as Armstrong with potentially a loan in January.

Don't know why tranmere didn't go for him.
They are so short of half decent players.
He would have improved them.
That's saying if the injury havnt done for him.

Talking of Emilio Lawrence how's he got on at City? Fell into the void or progressing?

plays every week for their top of the table u21s but not getting a sniff of the first team which isn't unexpected
7 goals 6 assists in 15 PL2 games according to Transfermarkt. Poss a Champ loan for him next season? Sure they'll probably sell him for £20m+ the season after that...
