Great lineup. Really fun. Mills and Welch in from the cold. Garner and Price together. Only downside is I'm assuming it's 5 at or ISS/Campbell left back which both limit us going forwards

…some of Everton’s and indeed Englands greatest full backs were wingers in their youth days. Ray Wilson & Tommy Wright are arguably our best ever yet started their careers further forward. I saw John Hurst play central striker and Tony Hibbert in midfield in FA Youth Cup Finals (I actually suggested & recommended Hibbert as a full-back to a lower league manager at that time).

More recently, Man Uts extended the careers of Valencia & Ashley Young by converting them to very useful full backs.

it was around 2 years ago I suggested Mills best chance of top flight success could ge as a FB, & not because of his Dad. Mills has terrific physicality, size and attitude. He’s good in possession and in the top third. The defensive side of his game will improve with experience & playing alongside senior players.

it’s very important these young players aren’t pigeon-holed into a position before being released.
