Just to clarify someone is going to go a long to a game and records under 18s, post it on the Internet then charge.
I know the intent in genuine, but am I the only one who sees the problem here.
This would be a major mistake as well. We often have a lot of under 16's playing for the under 18's and sometimes even for the under 21's. It would be a major safeguarding issue to film them without consent and would not be looked upon very favourably by the old bill. While I am sure the intent would be fine it would look awful.
This is a factor people have to weigh up when we consider filming as well. Everton tend to play younger players than others like Liverpool. For them to film it would require parental agreement and consent. I'm sure there would be more than a handful of parents who would be uneasy about children who are under 16 being filmed and broadcast all over the world.
I know it sounds very over protective and probably shows my educational background but in the modern world you have to be aware of these things far more now. I know it's a pain for us fans, but giving lads who are under 18 (and some under 16) freedom from exposure to the wider world has lots of positives. We talk about them (and I am as guilty as this as anyone) as if they are adults but they are children who Everton are in locis parentis of all the time they are in the clubs care. While lots of adults will want exposure to them for absolutely positive and footballing reasons the club have a duty of care to limit this.
I should also say, given elements of the fan base and their desire to criticise young players coming through providing a safe haven where they are shielded from that is going to be conducive to increased development.
So yes, I am not sure if anybody has suggested filming illegally but I would advise against anybody doing that, as it won't just be the intellectual property of Everton that you are in breach of.
