Everton Youth Teams Thread

WOLFSBERG 2-1, 74 gone
Goal. 2-1 to the Germans after a terrific individual effort from sub El-Haibi. Unsworth will be disappointed with how he jinked through.

Terrific goal-line interception from Markello after Rexhbecaj teases across! EFC U23S all over the place- first time I've seen that!

GRAY again with a brilliant reflex save down to his right! He was travelling the other way, too! Superb tonight.

..apparently played for their youth team today. Surprised FIFA rules allow a withdrawal part way through a competition.

He's not registered in their CL squad but rumoured to be involved in their 1st team at Frankfurt at the weekend. He started their last league game before the international break on their bench. Wouldn't make sense to withdraw him unless they plan to use him in their first team IMO.

Hmm, recalling Sancho will look very suspicious if England play Germany in the semi final.

To be fair it was all agreed before the tournament. Dortmund didn't want to let him go at all as he was starting to get involved with their 1st team squad. They let him go for the group stage as a compromise.

Hes not getting recalled, it was always the intention to pull him out after the group stages
Yes I know that , that’s just semantics over the word I used.

Yes I was aware of the intent pre tournament.
I not going to argue as this is an Everton Youth thread, I just think it’s a shame that a talented youngster is not given the opportunity to repres3nt his country all the way at a World Cup.

Not being a weird nationalist or anything but seems an increasing numbers of players that are eligible for multiple countries in England's youth teams.

Wenger (may years ago) was quoted as saying he focused (or something of that ilk) on black / African players as they were naturally more physical (or similar)...

I imagine it was a general comment but was a little non-PC lol
