2025/26 Everton Women - Super League & Cup Games

Early morning tomorrow from my time zone:

Australia v Japan for the Asia Cup, showing at 3am - obviously looking for a fun match and for Everton players to show well. My prediction is Japan 2-1 Australia.

Everton v ManU, with the Blues reaching 5 straight in the league, showing at 6am. My prediction is 3-1 for Everton, goals from Ornella (2) and Toni P.

I may forego the Keurig and break out the French Press to then stay awake for the men's side against Chelsea at 1130am
I Think Japan will win

Everton have never beat Man Utd in the WSL, and have only ever beat them once in a league cup game in 20 games overall (13 in WSL) that did not matter at the time in the Covid Era. With Man Utd playing in London a few days ago, and if Everton can play like they did v Spurs. They have a great chance. If we go into it with fear and hoping not to concede, we will concede. We have not won 5 in a row in WSL for 15years

My wife calls me an incurable optimist, so I'll predict the win vs United.

of course, I frequently attend the Colorado Rapids (Major League Soccer) and Colorado Rockies (Major League Baseball) and live in constant disappointment there, so I am not sure what that says about my mental health.

Sorensen was ignored by the players a lot when he was saying stuff from the side. But they were that use to playing the style they were, they could not really get out of it, despite Sorensen sometimes telling them to play a different way. Sorensen impressed the owners and players with all his buttlet points and how to improve thing. He literally did a pile of jobs that he should not have been because no one wasin place for the other jobs. He was so good at player spoting including the big name players over the years i said that we just missed out on that was not reported anywhere. While the odd one we did not get would have been a little more of a squad player signing to me like Shannon O'Brien who would have been our 1st actual signing last season if we or they did not pull out.

Phelan as i said a little bit of time ago is in the running. But on 1st 3 performance's i would a 100% say no. Based on yesterday i would say yes as that is how i want us to play. I am never into this stuff of they know Everton and they know what it means etc. Always find that stuff totally rubbish. Not sure he would have the pull of signing big players, so i think if he is named full time, it will be Jen and the owners mostly trying (At a guess)
Reading this from the other day. Phelan certainly deserves a chance if he wants the job. There was some really nice fluidity in the forward line at Spurs. We did do some good scouting under Sorensen though, and will need to continue to do so as long as we’re a feeder club for the top four. From the sound of it Phelan won’t know a lot about potential signings in the women’s game.

Re. The post about Mace, I think she’s on a three year deal with us. Selling her for profit after two years would be disappointing but unsurprising. Selling her after one year would be beyond disappointing on the part of club and player. She’s got time on her side so didn’t have to leave yet. She’s going to take over Keira Walsh’s role for England. Chelsea may have noticed this and decided she should do it for them as well.

Tickets for derby next week are selling out very gradually, doesn’t seem like the club is trying too hard to advertise the game.

Man Utd game with Blundell unavailable, might be the time to give Hobson a game and see where she’s up to

You get your wish tomorrow

Maybe you should have chosen ice hockey, basketball or (American) football, given your location!

Slightly off topic here, and totally unrelated to anything anybody has posted. But my wife asked me recently why I don't watch womens footy. I replied that I couldn't be arsed, it's a bit crap. I was met with a vague insinuation that I was being slightly sexist. I just laughed and said "yeah, I must be racist too, because I can't be arsed watching Scottish football either. "

Everton have been by far 2nd best. All Man Utd bar a chance for Zara few mins ago which was saved, but the behind goal cam shows it was a easy save really and not as far to the keepers left as it looked

Goal has been coming. Not been the best today again

The thing is, on the counter we have a chance at getting at them but we're so slow to transition and make decisions. Need for more from Momiki and Payne.

Can't just be sitting back and hoping we dont get stuffed, get stuck in, put them under pressure and see if we can grab a goal.
