Back on topic anyway before I get in any trouble. Everton for the cup via a penalty shootout every round. @davek gets to rave on about Martinez our cup winning manager whilst we all join in a rendition of we've got a diamond...........

Before stones is sold to Chelsea and Robles gets released on a free.

Everton that.

For me, you've hit the nail right on the head - if we just stopped giving the ball away so easily, we'd be ace.

Everything else isn't too shabby with Robles in goal.

I´m sure it will come right again. I am confident he is still building something.

And I´m still more optimistic about a possible successful period than I have been in many years.

Spurty getting schooled here, the Klopp bothering beaut

Speaking of school mate, how's half term?

Didn't make the game last night, although hearing conflicting things about Robles and Gibson in particular. Were they good/good or just good/better than the rest of the dross?

Robles was good, didn't do much wrong and made some great saves.
Gibson was a bit hohum, off the pace at times but did also move the ball forward nicely at times, moved to CB and surprisingly looked fairly comfortable. Clearly knackered at the end though

We were utter dirge last night.

Not arsed even a bit. We're through.

If we play the same in Sunday and win I still won't be arsed one bit.

Winning is all that matters.

I remember moyes winning although being boring. People go bored of him too in the end......

Couldn't watch the last Norwich penalty, was too nervous

Covered my eyes and waited for the crowd reaction

We advanced, that's the most important thing at this point. Some of those players need a bit of a kick up the bum though

Very happy with Oviedo. Thought he looked sharp and a lot pacier than when we saw him last

This was the big one for me. Sharpness is always going to increase with gametime, but I feared that he had lost a yard of pace with such a terrible injury. He seemed to be quicker tonight though, quicker than we've seen him since the injury.

I think we're in a better position after this game.

Robles put in a decent performance.
Mirallas, Oviedo and Gibson made their come backs.
Mori learned more about football in England.
Browning got more first team experience.

We've won a penalty competition, and we're in the next round.

And Barry is available for Sunday!

We couldn't beat a team who had been caned 6-2 by The Toon & beaten at home 1-0 by The Boingers, in 120 minutes of football !! :(

.....but that's why football is so unpredictable. Arsenal beat Bayern but were beaten by Sheffield Wednesday, Chelsea are holders and Champions but beaten by a Stoke side that lost at home on Saturday to Watford.

Funny old game.
