...up the Toffees. We are capable, we are a great club who can get results in cups against the very best. On a personal note it would be good for pay back for the Tommy Booth moment but I don't mean that in a bitter way.
OMG remember that game in 1969 at Villa Park.......got in 15 mins late due to heavy traffic on the motorway. Not the best of games and Booth scored right at the end if I recall Was gutted then as I thought we would get to Wembley again after the WBA letdown previous year COYB lets do them !!

Really wish we had someone effective on the left wing as Sagna looks decent at best this season and Sunday league at worst. Also Lukaku should be constantly stuck to Mangala on long balls and running off him when we have it down and are playing it around.

Not sure how much you have been watching us this season, but in Zabba's absence, Sagna has been arguably our most consistent performer, one of the few this season we have been able to rely on.

...I have to say that I'm as interested in their line up as ours. Without Kompany we can get at their 2 CBs but that will be more difficult if they play 2 defensive midfielders as opposed to the normal one. Although Toure is still capable of brilliance he struggles to get around the pitch. With the right selection we can go into the 2nd leg still very much in the tie.

I have no idea what line-up Pellegrini will go with for this game, but it will be a strong one, not much different than our starting XI at Watford I would say, with Navas giving Sagna help on defensive duties, meaning Sterling or De Bruyne left on the bench. I think it will be a very close game and you will be very much still in the tie going into the second leg.

This is the type of game where Goodison won't be stressing about league points and will be more inclined to get behind the team, which will help. We just need the referee to tick her off early doors (without the decision being a red/pen, obviously) and City could be in for a long night. The game means more to us than it does to them.

As long as we play like we know how much it means, that'll do me.

I hope either Mirallas or Cleverley play on the left. I'll be disappointed if it's Kone.

Not sure the game means more to you than to us, this was Pellegrini's first trophy at City and he is keen to win it again, the players are also eager to put last season's disappointments behind them.

Hopefully a good show of football over the two legs and whoever goes through, will go on to lift the cup next month.

I'm fortunate enough to only have to work really in the spring and fall so I see a good portion of all prem games definitely not to your level with city though (I assume you watch/go to every game) I still think he's far below the standard of your squad and hasn't looked good to me but I'll bow to your experienced eyes.

I do go most games VB, I was underwhelmed last season with Sagna, but this season he has been really solid, and pretty decent going forward. His energy has really surprised me and has definitely covered for Zabba's absence. The trouble is, Sagna is not one of the stellar names in the squad and it constantly overlooked by the media, despite his consistency.

You are right about Mangala though, target him and you may well get some joy although he seems to thrive on physical duels, rather than against smaller, nippy strikers. It may well be that Pellegrini leaves Mangala out for Demichelis to partner his fellow Argentine Otamendi on Wednesday night.

Fair nuff. Not sure how you feel but I think either is a positive for us.

I might be wide of the mark, and welcome to GOT by the way, but your style of posting isnt very Mancunian, in my experience.

But liked your point on whoever wins our tie lifts the pot.

As long as we do.
