We outplayed them for the final 10 minutes with 10 men. Kev, Osman, and the Kone on the pitch and Rom and Geri were off.

Personally I though Baines was excellent. He gives us more solidity at the back when he's there and with each game he's getting back to his best. Thought he was outstanding tonight.

Most encouraging thing about this all is that the players and manager are slightly disappointed for it not to be more convincing, shows they really know how good they can be... This is a special young group let's hope it stays together

semi final of a cup, i'd take something serious for me to even contemplate going off the pitch and leaving my team stranded with 10 men for over 10 minutes with only a slight lead against one of the best teams in the league.

look at kolo toure, he still hobbled on and played out the game against stoke last night even though he was in agony.

How could I not see encouragement in that performance? It's what the realists have craved. A solid performance going forwards and at the back.
