Gibson had a decent game. Barkley and McCarthy weren't brilliant but they didn't cost us the game by not doing their job.

Lukaku did.

I can't pin that one-off performance on Martinez. I can certainly pin it on Lukaku.

Gibson was woeful. So woeful that Stones took his place in CM when we had the ball, AND had to drop back to CB when they had it.

Gibbo and McCarthy were both utterly anonymous. Barkley did alright in the last 20 minutes. They did one player's work between the three of them.

Now back to our mid table battle for the last few games, still fuming!

Don't worry. Now we're new money, we'll do a Man City and start winning things with dislikable mercenaries playing for us. Which is fine with me.

We won't spend like city or chelsea though. We might get one or two marquee signings but we won't go ape with the dough.

1ST half could have been better but the way the team played in the 2nd made me proud that I am an Everton fan. Lukaku should have scored from the spot but he literally pointed where the ball was going. Why was he allowed instead of Baines or Barkley. Then the free kick after should have been down to the B's again. I was proud of our players.
