Today was a friendly that will have the same level of bearing as last year when we won 22-0.

It was a fitness exercise only and as someone above said, gets rid of a sponsor requirement early.

No complaints.

However.......

If your going to go and play this kind if side you have to win it. If you don't, you have to take any stick that will come with it.

We have to take that stick tonight.

It will have no bearing on the season, we know that. But failure to win against a side like we played today has consequences, fortunately this will be forgotten by the time the real season kicks off.

I can imagine the tears streaming down our fans faces when an opposition fan mentions that Everton lost to Kariobangi Sharks on penalties in a pre season game.
Soul crushing

Feed them to the Lions

Weird, how?

Pre season nothing game.
Fitness exercise and nothing more.

If there was to be anything to read into, it is the CH position. With Zouma situation still to be resolved and Jags having left, Holgate and Gibson had the chance to earn a place when the 2 first choice return.

5 days of pre season and hot conditions would have given them a solid workout.

Confused about all the panic here. Less than a week into pre season, with nowhere near a full strength team, just about the fitness this one.

I think the panic is due to the confirmation that underneath a fairly decent first team we have absolutely nothing to offer at Premier League level. Paper thin, despite spending millions upon millions on players over the last few years.

The squad we had for that game is a legacy of blowing money on Bolasie, Sandro etc. over the years.

Kariobangi Sharks
Formed 2000
Embarassing! No matter what side we fielded we should have won, not really looking like a team that will trouble the top 6 sides, long way to go so hope for better next time out........

Mate. A week ago most of these lads were drinking Tiger beers on a beach somewhere in Thailand. (the Everton lads, that is, not the Kenyans).

If you're getting this wound up after pre-season game #1, at this rate you'll be in a straightjacket by November.

We all knew that already though.

Quite a few proving they are not good enough, which we knew before the end of last season. Its a 1st team game why would we not approach it in a way which suggests we want to win? Winners win, and losers do exactly what we do, but hey ho its only pre season. I thought attitudes had changed at the club and wanted a winning mentality...... Same old same old!

But like I said there is a long way to go, they will always rattle out the fitness element as they were beaten.

I’m actually sat here laughing at my phone screen reading that, what on earth goes on in your life?

Perspective is needed. Gomes was probably the only guaranteed 1st team player out there. 1st pre-season game so fitness is an issue alongside playing in that heat.
2nd half not one guaranteed 1st team player and basically our youth team. The initial enthusiasm seen the youngsters get the upper hand but fitness came into it again and that waned. Nothing more than a fitness exercise and a chance for Silva to cast an eye on the youngsters first hand.

Yes we all like to win even if the games are meaningless but perspective actually calms you down and prevents unnecessary melt downs.

Very little judging by the absolute guff he posts on here regularly. The word cockwomble was invented with him in mind. Make of that what you will
