They were missing Buffon, Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Marchisio and Pirlo.

It's not like they were throwing players like Gueye in to replace them like but it wasn't their strongest team.

Lichtensteiner, Vidal, Kwadwoah Asamoah, Tevez, Llorente and Pirlo as a sub -- all players who are or will be a part of their main team this season.

It was mainly in defence they were lacking a bit, but Ogbonna was purchased to be a key member of their set up, and he couldn't handle us.


Also we had no Deulofeu, and chiefly we played the whole game with our third choice striker. And our 4th or 5th choice CB.
 
Firstly, I said they only played 5 first team players... which you've listed so I don't see your point.

Ogbonna won't displace any of their 3 natural centre backs.

Deulofeu you've never even seen play. There's no way Martinez even knows who his 1st/2nd/3rd choice striker is yet.

We started with about 9 first team players.

Nobody is saying they didin't play top players mate. They just didint play their best team.

Asamoah played wing back all last season. But played centre mid for most of the game today.

Ogbonna is new, and he played with a wing back as one of his centre back partners. Thats like us playing Coleman next to Alcaraz!

You can also add Pogba, Giovinco, Quagiarella to the list of players not included.

Yes, Muslims that are doing Ramadan don't eat while the sun is up. Think they have a meal before sunrise and another at sunset.
I'm not sure what the other rules are but that kickoff time coincided with 6am in Mecca and I think there is an obligation for them to pray at this time (again not sure on this, I'm non-religious)
