McGeady and Mirallas down either wing looking like our best option with Barkley in the middle ahead of Besic and McCarthy

Barry and Gibson solid alternatives for holding roles, but going forward we haven't got a lot to offer.

We really do need a striker and at least one winger/forward

Worrying that we didn't even throw on a youngster up front or out wide - clearly nobody even close to the 1st team.

Look good for youths in defensive roles though.

So by the sounds of it Naismith Barry and Stones are now suddenly rubbish. Three of our key players from last season? Get a grip, Stones will be imperious once again, Barry will be his usual reliable self, and Naismith will be slotting against all the big teams as usual. Its pre-season on some rubbish pitch without big stars like Mirallas Coleman Lukaku and Pienaar. Boss to see Gibbo back though (would have him over Barry when fully fit) and Besic looks like he will be quality.

Worrying lack of sharpness from the lads tonight, although they improved in the second half, largely due to the influence of Gibson and Besic.

Could have been 8-all if all of the chances had been converted, but overall they looked a far better side on the night.

What annoyed me most about Hibbo was him getting caught up field continuously when he offers nothing at all to us attacking wise

We drew our first three PL games against lower table teams, Hardly a great start, So the good pre season hardly helped did it?

Besic is gonna get under a few opposition players skin this season... looks quality, just the bit of bite we need...can see a few cards mind..and not all yellow

Besic would start a fight in an empty room, I like the way ne cleaned out their best player too, that sort of nasty know how is something we've lacked.
Great to see gibbo back, he makes the game look easy. Geads will get many assists this year.

That second half has eased my nerves now - we'll boss it on the weekend ready for the opener.

Hibbo is finished as a PL footballer for at least 2 seasons. Maybe give him a contract as an assistant coach or something instead of that 2 year deal.

We need player to fight the RB spot with Seamus so signing Richards from Citch should be a great deal for us.

Second half was much better but that could also be due to Celta Vigo taking their foot off the pedal.

Gibson was very good, taking responsibility in the middle and making the simple things get ticking over again. Liking what I'm seeing from Besic so far. Barkley was much effective as he played fifteen yards more forward and McGeady had a better game.

Lots of crap things but they've been covered. We'll have to sort that defence out and up front too, hoping Lukaku will be ready for the start of the season. Not the best of pre seasons so we'll have to go after Leicester as the two games after that won't be easy.

Better second half, thought Barkley worked hard, Besic & Gibson looked good. We were badly lacking an out and out forward though, definitely need another forward in or we'll be f*cked if anything happens to Lukaku.

Only saw the second half and we battered them in it. Should have scored at least two there.

Games like this really highlight the lack of depth in the squad though.
