Went the game tonight. Thought first half we were awful. We strolled around and vigo were pressing us really high and our players didnt like it. Baines looked lazy i thought. Hibberts injurys looked like they have caught up with him, usualy defensivly he is touch tight with his man but seems as hes worried about turning/pace he is now giving them that extra yard of space, which is vital at this level. As i said we looked lazy first half even mcarthy wasent doing his usual running and all 3 goals came from daft mistakes or not working hard enough to win it back.
2nd half we looked much better. Mcarthy seemed to wake up once he got kicked and barkley looked much better furthar up the pitch. Stones looked better at right back then he did centre back (never thought id say that), not been a fan of browning at right back but he looked good at left back. Besic is gowna pick up a hell of a lot of cards. We need our starting side for the season to be either
howard, coleman (stones if not fit), jags, distin, baines, barry, besic, mcarthy, mirallas, lukaku, barkley 4-3-3
Or
howard, coleman(stones if not fit), jags, distin, baines, barry, mcarthy, pienaar, naismith, mirallas, lukaku 4-2-3-1

I find it hard to contemplate a starting 11 without Barkley.

Is it just me who thinks Gibbo looked very impressive in this game. Thought he really made a difference to the way we played in that 2nd half.

No, he looked class. But I think all the players who joined second half played well. We're CV tiring or was it a better combination of players?

Celta Vigo beat Barca at the Camp Nou.

There is little of the pace, precision or control that had once defined Barcelona; the chances they made came by a more direct route. Yet if few of the old virtues were in evidence, some of the old flaws were recognisable in the way they conceded the game’s only goal.

It came on 55 minutes and it came from a long clearance from Sergio. Javier Mascherano was out-jumped by Pablo Hernández, whose flick-on reached Nolito, a strong candidate to get his first Spain call-up in a fortnight’s time. As it bounced up, Dani Alves made a mess of bringing it under control and Sergio Busquets dangled a foot tentatively, watching it escape him. Nolito back-heeled cleverly into the path of Larrivey who slotted the ball home.
