Thought this was the best we played for a long while.

And I was a bit worried that we'd give up a goal after dominating for long periods, but once the first goal went in, that pretty much settled it.

Baines should be taking every penalty btw.

Pickford. 6. Had nothing to do.
Coleman. 6. Quiet but solid game. Will be fully fit for next game.
Jagielka. 6. Solid game.
Keane. 5. Did ok, but some very very poor passing particularly in the first half.
Baines. 7. Very solid comeback. Even got himself an assist.
Rooney. 7. Penalty aside, had a very good game.
Davies. 5. Thought he was very poor, it's a shame we have so little competition in midfield. Maybe Klaassen should be given a go.
Sigurdsson. 6. Looked tidy and all of his corners were very good, just very poor of the rest of the team to not take advantage of that.
Bolasie. 4. Thought he was appalling, but thankfully Bong turned Bolasie's cross into their goal for our opener. He had a bright 10 minute spell in the second half, but that's hardly good enough for a 27m footballer.
Walcott. 7. Very good indeed, he's a superb player.
Tosun. 7. Very promising, looks settled. Great header last week, top finish this week.

Congratulations the most negative comments I have seen after a decent performance by the team

WUM without doubt, too much bias to be taken seriously

Honestly, we dominated the first half and should've scored many MANY times. Yannick is just not quite there yet, but man, did he have opportunities. Give him credit for the work and opportunities, but the end product was not quite there. Siggy was my MothM, as he was great passing, crossing, free kicks, and really did well in the tackle and winning ballls at times.

Brighton offered nothing going forward and we still gave it away quite a bit, especially in the second half. Brighton is also inept at defending free kicks and it was obvious today.

I still think our CBs need to stop giving the ball away. Jags terrifies me and Keane just has these complete brain dead moments where he makes reckless passes for no reason. But having a bit of skill at right and left back was a nice change.

We all watch the game with different eyes.

We were helped enormously by a Brighton team not turning up.

They made us look like Barca at times, but we have been doing that all season to other teams.

Nice to win. Not being negative, but we have been here before against West Ham.
If we go on a run of good performances now I will be delighted, but this season has taught me that we only get a good result when the opposition don't have a proper go at us.

We looked so good yesterday because we have been so poor the rest of the time.

It is so GOOD to be able to enjoy the rest of the weekend!

But I won't be suckered by one win!!

For me it was having Jags Coleman and Baines starting what a difference

Agree, I just re-watched the 2nd half; in defensive phases Jags does not stop talking and his head is on a swivel. Add to the fact that Coleman and Baines know exactly what they are supposed to be doing, we are exponentially more solid at the back.

With retrospect I'll stick with Baines as my MOM for his key contributions, but mentions for Bolasie who seemed to revel in the abuse he got from the away fans, and Sigurdsson... pure class. He is so efficient and productive with the ball with so few touches, he presses up front at the right times and on numerous occasions was back breaking things up in the Gareth Barry areas.
