i think this result has been coming all season. teams have ripping through the middle of us with aimless through balls or causing us problems because no-one can organise the defence or attack the ball from crosses. the problems up front have been there too since a handful of games in when Jelavic started moaning at every opportunity. Moyes is too slow to see problems emerging and too cautious to react properly when he does. he needs to go soon or bring in an assistant who can provide the imagination and courage he lacks. hopefully we can get something positive out of this and throw Barkley, Velios and maybe Oviedo into a team that is still talented enough to scrap for fifth against the odds. we have to accept we didn't show the hunger and passion for this that Wigan did and that includes the fans. we need some of Wigan's attitude from today. hope they win it now and we learn from this horrible lesson and go for it for rest of season.

Newcastle springs to mind

The problem I have with todays defeat is not so much we lost, it was the manner in which we lost. As an Evertonian all I ask is when you put the royal blue jersey on you try, try as hard as you can to perform and win the game. If you have a bad game and the effort is there so be it, i can accept that. What I cant accept is Fellaini today. I cannot and will not accept that just because he's played well in MOST games, not ALL, but most that this gives him a divine right to not only underperform but to have the arrogance and attitude to be so petulant to throw his arms around, not even bother with the play thats going on around him, to come across as though everyone is else is to blame when in fact it was him who was one of the biggest culprits today, no, I just cant accept it. Not only has he done this today he's lost his head and been petulant a few times, but he has also been so arrogant to talk about leaving as soon as january etc to the media. If you want to go to chelsea just [Poor language removed] off and go because as far as im concerned he has got to big for his boots. Neville was a disgrace as well not only for the pass that lead to the 2nd goal but for nearly putting us down to 10 men at 3 nil down for a horrendous challenge however, i dont blame neville I blame Moyes. What on earth led him to drop gibson for neville.

I can move on from this defeat and ill be supporting the blues when we play man city and hope we can bounce back but im disgusted, absolutely disgusted that evertonians can defend fellaini after that showing 'just because he's having a good season'. He is PAID MASSIVE AMOUNTS to perform and your only as good as your last performance but to turn up and act so spoilt like he did today is a disgrace. Its not the fact he had a bad game to the muppets, it was the manner in which he acted. It has no place at goodison. You wanna act like that Felli like i said '[Poor language removed] off to chelsea', youll fit like a hand in glove.

On a positive just want to say Mirallas was a credit. Didnt stop running.

Onwards we go

TBH I thought Oldham did this in the first match in the last round. They played right through our midfield like it wasn't there at times. The warning signs were flashing there, and I totally agree we've been getting away with it but we've had this result coming.

I think we lost today because of the ball, the bloody fa using a different ball to the premiership. If that was a premiership ball Neville's pass would have put jelavic clear through like intended instead of falling to the wigan striker. Oh and don't get me started on kicking off two hours before normal.

Good post mate.

Apparently Fellaini touched the ball once in the first 20 or so minutes. He didn't give a sh*te about today's game and that's unacceptable.

I got a bad feeling about this game the moment I read that Gibson was on the bench.

I thought Moyes must be resting him and saving him for the harder games to come. Maybe this is still true but he's saying he picked Neville over Gibson so that it doesn't look like he thought that Wigan would be an easy game. I just don't get it. I think Gibson has only been on the bench once or twice and this was when he was rested or coming back from injury. He has always been a guaranteed starter when fit since he arrived.

But then why bring him on for half an hour with the game dead. Just baffling all round. Like persisting with Heitinga when everyone knew he was guaranteed to be good for a goal or two (or three) for the opposition. It's this strange stubborness and then trying to save face but he just ends up a loser and with egg on his face. And we can all see it. The despair today at Goodison was unreal. Moyes' time is up.

I think today also highlighted how we don't have a definitive formation that works. WHY is Fellaini STILL cam? Stick him in Cm with Gibson and have another sticker either Vic verllios or Naismith, in his bloody proper position. Its not a hard to gather concept, Fellaini can be more of a game changer in cm and we'll actually have more goals because Jelas won't be so isolated and will have another sticker for support

Thanks mate. Im trying to not over react and give a sensible opinion. Just disappointed people are defending fellaini. 'Hes had good games' . Is that a good enough reason to be so poor and to have such a bad attitude today. I couldnt believe what i was seeing. We were only 1 more game away to a cup final i mean that, and the silly money he is on surely he could have give something back to the supporters and put his own ego aside !

i blame moyes today!

ok the team selection was shocking!

but what realy got me was we went 3 down after 33 mins and moyes just stood there for 15 mins and changed fook all till half time! well worth 65k a week!

ive even tried to be a bit nicer about moyes the last year after a few comments from people but that is defo it for me he HAS to go!!
