....today was a fantastic opportinity against a team. We couldn't ask for much more that a home draw in quarter final against a team fighting relegation. Its bad enough we get beat but there is no excuse for not having a go and that was the case with a few.
I suspect a few of the boys are carrying knocks, the form of light-weights in particular (Osman, Pienaar & Baines) suggests this is the case.
The main problem for me is that we had a great opportunity to gain a bit of momentum in the transfer window but failed miserably. We were in a fabulous position at that point. We were at a crossroads and the board chose to keep their hands in their pockets and hope for the best. They have let down fans who deserve more.

We could've asked for Barnsley, but I get your point.

Struggling to find a single positive from today. Never seen so many fans fighting with each other. Fellaini can leave for all I care after his ego'd performance. Don't have a clue why Mirallas our best player on the field was substituted off (Moyes logic). Absolutely devastated. Hoping for a City next week to soften the blow...which isn't ever happening.

Pathetic performance. Wigan were by far the best team on the pitch and I hope by some chance they win the cup.

After the first ten minutes I knew we were going to be in for a tough game. We sat back and tried to absorb pressure instead of pressing them. Wigan practically walked through the centre of the park. Neville and Jelavic need to be dropped and while this experiment with Felliani was fun he needs to be back at CM.

Play the youngsters. They're the ones that actually play like they want to be there.

Fellaini needs to go while he is still worth something in the eyes of other clubs. His display today was abysmal, lacking in skill. commitment and common sense. When he turned his back on play and started waving his arms around as play passed hime by he looked for all the world like Alex Nyarko.

I hope I never see him in an Everton shirt again.

Today feels nowt like how we all felt after Wembley last year.

Nowhere near like it.

Well it's clearly not got to you in the same way it's got to me then.

4 hours since the final whistle and still seething here. Why ? Because we were HUMILIATED at HOME on national TV by at team fighting for it's life in the league. It was nothing short of ABJECT and SHAMEFUL. I cannot forgive Moyes for sending out a half-baked team with a half-arsed attitude for such a make or break game.

We were fairly poor in the 2nd half at Wembley but it does not come anywhere near the direness of that non-performance today. I think Moyes had already decided to go at the end of the season, but after today's result surely it is now nailed on that he will. And it will probably be the best thing for all concerned, because today was totally unacceptable for this football club.

The majority of the squad are simply bottlers when it comes to the big matches.

Neville, Osman, Heitinga, Fellaini..

Does it all stem from Moyes himself?

Neville is some months past his retire-by date but keeps getting picked, and Heitinga has seemingly forgotten how to play football. The other two have performed well in big games, but are in the same **** form as the rest of the side so its perhaps too much to call them bottlers.

As for Moyes, I am still too fuming to make a coherent point but if he picks either of Neville or Heitinga against City then he really should just quit there and then.

Fellaini almost always turns up for the big games. He probably didn't feel that this was an important day. The man will probably have the club's motto changed to 'everything but the best is good enough' if we let him laze about the place thinking that he is Everton for much longer.

............Neville over Gibson was odd to say the least. I suspect Moyes wanted Neville's influence but that means a sacrifice on quality in that area of the field. The selection backfired. I'm happy with Neville starting but that has to be at right back if everybody is fit. I've said many times that I'm concerned about Coleman as a defender. Moyes selected him to be a threat in the attacking third and this was another tactical error.
Bad day in the office for the boss and its hard to see how our season can pick up from here.

this is no suprise its been coming down the line this while, the oldham game they could have been 2 nil up again us in the replay, reading last week should have been ahead before we scored.

anyway better off out of it as united or chelsea or city would give us a lesson at wembley
i pity the young Everton blue noses that have never seen Everton win anything.

i'am lucky enough to be in my 40's and have seen 2 league titles and 2 FA CUP wins
but i fear we will see no more sliverware at Goodison after todays display
