I'm at the hotel where Spurs are staying. Eric Dier is in jeans rather than a tracksuit like the rest so maybe he's not playing ?

Hope everyone going has a great day and shows Koeman just how brilliant a club Everton is.

I'll be hunting down rivers and wishing I was there, unless we get tanked. Can't see it though, 2-2, and a decent start to the season.

I think it's going to be a slow start to the season - getting the remaining fitness levels into the players and completing the "de-Wiganisation" of the team will take some time. I hope the fanbase can show patience, get behind the team and not boo them every chance they get. This is the beginning of a new chapter in our history - the good stuff will come, for now we will need to accept what we see on the pitch. Can't wait to take my seat later, hope the old lady is rocking to officially welcome Big Ron and his team to Everton. COYB!

Did the good doctor forget 69/70 ?

The decline he refers to commenced 71/72 and apart from the glorious mid-80s and the other odd flirtation with the cup in 95 and a couple of enjoyable if unsuccessful Europa campaigns, said decline won't be arrested and turned around overnight.

Koeman (and Walsh) need this season to set their still out, infuse the club with their beliefs and practices, and then we can start to really build, climb and recover years of lost ground.

To be fair Andy, he said post 69/70 which is almost 50 years. ;)

We can at least expect the side to be organised and at it from kick-off, which is worlds away from Martinez.

What I would give for an early goal today.

Hope GP is absolutely rocking from the off, and RK gets a great reception.

Really need to be in Spurs faces all game, and hound and press them all over the pitch, as they will do to us.

If we are not lacking in effort, home advantage might just get us over the line today, though this is a very difficult game.

Good luck to all going the game today, make it hell for Spurs.

COYB.
